"A few hours ago, you were giving chai for the phone walahs. And now you're richer than they will ever be. What a player!" - Prem Kapur, Slumdog Millionaire (2008)

Celador Films, Rated R, 120 minutes.

Dev Patel - Jamal K. Malik

Saurabh Shukla - Seargent Srinivas

Anil Kapoor - Prem Kapur

Frieda Pinto - Latika

Irrfan Kahn - Police Inspector

Domestic Box Office Gross: $141,319,928

Synopsis: A young man, Jamal, is accused of cheating in Indias version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?". While under tortuous questioning we learn, through flashbacks, how he knew the answers and about his undying love for a girl.

Fact: The grand prize $20,000,000 Indian rupees would be $411,600 dollars American.

Trivia: Slumdog Millionaire and Schindler's List are the only two films to win best picture, director and screenplay at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs and Oscars.

Movie Mistake: When Salim and Jamal are working the Taj Mahal they show a 2006 $10 dollar bill. The year is supposed to be 2002.

My Take: I can't tell you why, but I resisted watching this film FOREVER. I thought it was some musical with a bunch of kids, like India's version of High School Musical. When I actually did see it I was blown away. This movie had so much heart that it's impossible to not feel good after watching it.
