Synopsis: A young lion cub, Simba, is led to believe that he is responsible for his fathers death thus flees into exile. Years later Simba returns only to discover the truth and attempts to claim back his rightful seat on the thrown.
Fact: The Lion King is loosely based on Shakespears Hamlet and there are numerous similarities throughout the film.
Trivia: Mickey Mouse can be seen in the wide shot of the stars when Mufasa is explaining the great kings to Simba.
Movie Mistake: Scars paws change from multiple to single pads throughout the film.
My Take: Not my favorite Disney film but a great film nonetheless. The Lion King, for me, represented life and what you do with it. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. The soundtrack, cast, look and message, I feel, really inspired hope. Wow! I am cheesy sometimes. Sigh...
