The Demand Studios Let Down

Demand Studios Disappointment

Did any of you ever write for Demand Studios? Well, in their early days a lot of out of work writers were flocking to them because they offered a so called “unlimited income.” You could work when you want and as much as you want. The pay was pretty low but it meant that when you were in between clients you would always have some money coming through. So, many writers were relying on it for an extra income.

However, some people relied on Demand Studios for a full time income and this is where many people were disappointed. When towards the end of 2011 the titles began to dwindle, there were less and less titles to choose from. Sooner or later seemingly all titles had been erased from the system and there was no work. So people that were relying on this for their main income ended up having to start looking for other work. The problem with Demand Studios was that they gave no prior warning. If you had any common sense though you would realise that at some time the ship was going to sink and they would start tightening their purse strings a little. Because they were paying people between $5 and $25 an article and this was before they had ever seen any profit out of these articles. In the end they would make this money back but overall they were losing money from the get go.

E How which is one of Demand Studios websites had thousands of articles posted on it about how to topics. However, one day they just starting deleting articles that people had written stating that they were carrying out some kind of quality control. This was very upsetting to a lot of people because many writers used their Ehow links to provide proof of published work on the Internet. They did this without a lot of writers consent as well.

Anyway, I myself am not complaining because although I did work there at one point, it was never my sole income. It was only an extra income for me. But for those who saw it as a sole income ended having to scrap around the net looking for immediate writing work. Which some people managed to get and some people didn't.

My point here is that companies like Demand Studios should either only employ good quality writers, and pay them more for their efforts instead of employing a lot of low quality workers and then having to cancel their employment at a moments notice.

This pretty much echoes my own experience with Demand Studios. It's too bad!

Accolades and a vote up!

Same Demand Studios experience here. Was making a good full-time living there. Now, I'm lucky to do a couple of articles a week. Voting this Up and Interesting.

Yep I know so many people who had this experience and many who were fired. Its really really sad. Try copify another site and for beginner writers who don't mind earning low and working their way up to 10 to 14 dollars an article go to I writer. This is just for extra money not for a full time income but it is something.
