The Dumbest Invention Ever

The Treadmill Bike

I don't know about you, but I believe the treadmill bike to be what is possibly the dumbest invention of all time. First of all, if you want to exercise on a treadmill (ahem-indoors) then that's one thing. If you go outside, then you walk rather than use a treadmill. That's kind of why treadmills are indoors. Now, however, there's this crazy bike treadmill thing that is an outdoor treadmill on two wheels. Apparently it has varying levels of "resistance" so that you can run on the treadmill and the bike wheels underneath will be going at about half that speed. Hmm, that's pretty efficient, eh? I bet going down stairs is a nightmare, ha ha. The wheels wouldn't be going very fast, but the treadmill would speed up like crazy and you'd either have to run to catch up or be thrown off as it hurtles out from under you!

Have I whetted your appetite for humor yet? If so, you can see these pointless contraptions in action (here I pause and laugh at the fact that there are actual people who own treadmill bikes). So, click on this link and behold their glory, if you can call it that:

Here's a link to the commercial website for them, if for some odd reason, you're interested in buying one:

Personally, I love the whizzing, grinding sound that they make. Before I saw that video, I hadn't laughed so hard at anything since I watched Charlie the Unicorn on Youtube. Maybe someone out there will actually see some kind of value in these odd gizmos. For me, however, they will remain an excellent and very hilarious conversation piece.

Well there you are, they probably are the most useless thing invented since the last invention.

Still if you had not mentioned them, I would not have known about them and therefore neither of us would have had the belly laugh.

thank you

Wow, that thing looks like a joyless scooter... The whole point of a scooter is to coast really fast down steep hills and try like hell not to go over the giant potholes. What the fun in this thing? Perhaps the beating you get from your child's neighborhood bullies?

This thing's even better then those human hamster balls...

LOL! The beating you get from your child's neighborhood bullies...that one gave me a good laugh. Indeed, even without a beating, you'd be the laughingstock of the neighborhood.

Oh my gosh. Yeah the point of this is pretty much useless. If I wanted to work out in front of every body I would go to the gym. But at least everyone there is pretty much trying to lose some weight!
