The Flyte Cru - Audition and Predictions For America's Got Talent 7
America's Got Talent has had a handful of basketball dunk acts in its 7 years on the air. The Flyte Cru is the newest addition to this group. This is not the best dunk team I have seen on AGT, but they are not terrible, either.
At their New York auditions for Season 7, Howie did not want to send them to Las Vegas for two reasons. He said it was not that original and not that crisp. I agree on both points. There was really no attempt to make the act unique. They could have at least watched Acrodunk, which made it a few rounds on America's Got Talent in the past, and learned a few pointers about how to make their act more original.
My general prediction on acrobatic teams that use the trampoline to dunk basketballs is that they will always have a hard time winning. I have yet to see one of these groups introduce any kind of originality into the act. It definitely takes a lot of talent and practice to do this. But as an art form in and of itself, it's too hard to distinguish yourself from similar acts.
Even if an acrobatic dunk team could make the finale of AGT, I don't see it being The Flyte Cru unless they get a lot more precision. Just in the audition, one member completely missed his dunk, and the synchronized dunk wasn't even close to being in sync.
