Atlas by Coldplay

The reason behind the movie's title.

The Hunger Games book trilogy by Suzanne Collins were titled The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The film adaptation of the first book was also called The Hunger Games. The second film adaptation which will be based on the second book will hit theaters in 2013. However, the producers of the movie (Lionsgate) tweaked the title and made it The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This is a very good move, business and marketing-wise. The first film was a huge success and the sequels are expected to be blockbuster hits as well.

A lot of the people who watched and liked the first film probably did not read the books by Collins. This is one of the main reasons why Lionsgate the second film tweaked the title. Movie viewers will instantly see that THG: Catching Fire is a continuation of the first picture.

Lionsgate is doing exactly what Summit Entertainment did with their Twilight movie series. They did not just title the Twilight sequels as New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. They added the phrase The Twilight Saga to their titles. It worked. And Lionsgate is also hoping that the technique will work on their THG movies.

Francis Lawrence: Director of THG: Catching Fire

Francis Lawrence is a director who works with music videos, movies and television. Most of his work were music videos. Lawrence has three feature films under his belt. These are Constantine (2005), I Am Legend (2007) and Water for Elephants (2011).
