The Top 5 Lonely Island Videos

For those yet to witness the comedy majesty that is The Lonely Island, I'll fill you in with a little background info on the humourous trio. The Lonely Island consists of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, who began creating and filming their initial comedy shorts in high school. It wasn't until the group had created quite a portfolio of work before they were noticed by Saturday Night Live through Lorne Michaels. Since then, their careers as comedians has sky-rocketed, resulting in some increasingly high-production comedy shorts (such as those within this article), songs and a recent film.

So, now you're a little better informed, we'll jump right in with what I believe are their top 5 videos out to date.

The amusement behind We Like Sports is through its satirical take on FOOTBALL LADS. In other words, males that have little personality who socialise through watching sport because it's just so important. It somehow makes your stomach twist in embarassment as these two are just so believably lame.

Posh country clubs, fingerless gloves, boiled goose - this video hits all the right buttons. Just to see Julian Casablancas of The Strokes singing on a rap song alone is mindboggling, let alone what Spanish guys spontaneously do when a boombox appears. This video definitely has the WTF factor - and it's executed to great effect. Plus, it's a pretty catchy tune too.

There's something so satisfying about throwing something full force at the ground in a fit of rage. It's even more satisfying when it's entirely uncalled for - this being the key to the video's hilarity. Andy Samberg's facial expressions make this video - the sheer disgust and contempt he feels toward a sweet, giving little boy is perhaps the highlight. Welcome to the real world, jackass!

The issue of being premature in bed... An issue many a man worries himself over, searching high and low for herbal remedies to prevent his embarrassing poor performance. In Jizz In My Pants on the other hand, the idea of being premature in bed is taken to a whole new level. It's gotta be down to the serious tone of Seth Rogen that makes this video so beautiful. This is just one of those videos you could watch a hundred times before getting slightly bored of. there aren't many that would last even 5 views for me, so this is an achievement. Once again, Andy Samberg provides us with some quality rhymes about his average day in the office.
