"The Nine Lives of a Katt"

Updated on July 13, 2014

This "Katt" Roars!

I use to be skeptical about the saying that a cat has nine lives. However, after witnessing the continuous, resurrection of comedian Katt Williams; I’m now a firm believer that they do.

Born Micah S. Katt Williams, on September 2nd, 1973 in Ohio, this “Casanova of Comedy” stands only 5’5” in statue, but is a giant in his genre. When I first saw this man, several years ago, I was amazed at his act. He was relentless and uncompromising in his use of two particular words; one being “Mother” and I don’t mean the one that gives birth. However, this “Professor of Profanity”, extreme talent, was mesmerizing and made me sat down to his stand-up.

After that encounter, I wanted to hear this “Katt” purr more. Just like new lovers, I knew nothing about him; however, just a click of the mouse resolved that quickly. I started to Yahoo, Google and Bing, everything, about Katt Williams. Well, it’s said that when you go looking for trouble, you’ll find it because I definitely did. This “Katt” has an arrest record, longer than a Cher wig. I actually got confused, calculating all the different arrests, fights and lawsuits. From running from cops, to running off hecklers, this Katt growled.

There are some that’s accusing him of abusing drugs and alcohol, while others believe he’s a bit Bi-Polar. I, personally, cannot prove either case; or willing to make a “generic” diagnosis of his actions. There was even the one-time occasion, in November 2012; when he announced his retirement from comedy. However, that was shorter than a retirement from Pro-footballer Brett Favre because after only three days, Katt was resurrected.

His appearance in court, the Spring of 2013 to be exact, proved once again his many lives. With the charges of evading the police before the court, incarceration should have been his fate. However, his charges were reduced to community service. Katt’s attorney stated that “Mr. Williams looks forward to working with the community and moving on with his life”. Well, that seems to be an accurate assumption about Katt because he is presently on tour.

He’s performing in venues from Las Vegas to Hartford, and my heart is for his success. This little man is masterful and massive on the “mic”. From his opening line, to his closing bow, you can only conclude one thing and that is… this Katt can really roar!
