The Voice 2 Finale Performance of Jermaine Paul - "I Believe I Can Fly" (R. Kelly)
Jermaine Paul was a backup singer for Alicia Keys before entering Season 2 of The Voice. He has made it to the finale and will perform one last time for America's votes. His competition includes Juliet Simms, Tony Lucca, and Chris Mann.
Jermaine and the other contestants will give their final contest performances on Monday, May 7, 2012. On Tuesday the 8th, The Voice 2 will crown its new champion.
Jermaine is third out of a four and a pretty big longshot if we are going by wagering odds at online sportsbooks. He is on Blake Shelton's team, which has turned out to be arguably the weakest. If not for that, he may not have even made the finale. However, Paul has done okay and seems to be fairly popular if we go by iTunes sales rankings. He was around 3rd overall in the Top 16. And he is third out of four of the remaining contestants. It is unlikely that he is going to improve upon that ranking unless Tony or Juliet has a horrible song choice and a subpar performance.
Look for Jermaine to finish 3rd or 4th in the finale unless he can pull a rabbit out of his hat. We don't know the exact voting totals, but it seems that Tony and Juliet are the ones to beat at this point.
Jermaine got stuck singing first. He is performing the big R. Kelly hit single, "I Believe I Can Fly." Well, there were some great parts about this, including some big power notes and runs. It was one of his most emotional performances. On the other hand, he lost some vocal control towards the end.
