Tom Petty rocks with Mojo-Vintage Magic

Mojo

Just when you thought that the golden age of Rock and blues was past and the old masters past their prime, there comes along a gem by an old legend - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers- Mojo. An album filled with the clean guitar sounds , playing blues-rock solo's with lyrics that go straight to the heart.

What i loved about the album was its pace. The mood it created was of the old days when time was not a premium. The suave rhythms create an atmosphere that one can enjoy on a weekend with a drink in the company of friends. The guitars of Mike Campbell and Scott Thurston swing into action with a pub house feel. The clean sounds of the band create feelings of joy and bliss.

The opening track, "Jefferson Jericho Blues" sets the tone and the rest of songs follow suit with classic blues melodies. Toms lazy drawl style of singing keeps you hooked especially "The Trip to Pirates' Cove" and "Dont Pull me over". The song of hope"Something Good coming" is the perfect setting for the opening licks of "I should've Known it" .

People, Classic rock, Blues...what ever you want to call it, listen to this album from the past master, who incidentally shows that even today, clean sounds and edgy lyrics still rule.
