Top 5 Comic Book Movies: According To Me
If you're a comic book fan, or a comic book movie fan, you can't stop yourself from ranking movies that really have no right to be compared to one another, since they're so different. So, I didn't stop myself, and here it is.....
5. Hellboy 2
The first Hellboy was sadly overlooked, and is a fantastic movie in it's own right. So, I went in the theater to see The Golden Army with my expectations very high....and was completely blown away. The imagination of Guillermo Del Toro is pretty incredible at times, and really disturbing at others. Couple that with an amazing cast, including second-best casting ever, Ron Perlman (more on #1 later), and it is a fantastic movie.
4. Iron Man
I defy you to come up with a better casting choice than Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark. Everything about him and his character is perfect. Along with the amazing return of Jeff Bridges to the big screen, and a surprisingly fantastic Gwyneth Paltrow, and the casting overall was awesome.
I stated this in my other post, but I was expecting this to be the big dumb, Hulk-esque movie, but instead, there are a lot of different layers, for a really satisfying movie. Plus, he hits stuff with a hammer, so that's awesome.
2. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
This movie might have been one of the worst financially, but I LOVED it. The tone was perfect, it was hilarious throughout. I have found out first-hand that this movie isn't for everyone (I get it, its the worst movie you've ever seen, you-know-who-you-are), but for those of us in that niche that it was made for, there is not a funnier, and more faithful translation of a comic out there.
1. The Dark Knight
If the casting was different, this might not even be on the list. I mean, it was a good crime movie and everything, but take out the villains, and it was kind of meh. The reason this is number one is undoubtedly Heath Ledger. He is frightening. He is insane. He is perfect. If this movie were 8 hours of just The Joker, making speeches, blowing stuff up, and making pencils disappear, I would have loved every minute of it. This is absolutely the performance that every actor (in a comic book movie or not) should strive to produce in their careers, and this entire movie is the Gold Standard for what comic book movies should be.
So, what is your favorite comic movie? There's many more to choose from.
And if you say Ang Lee's Hulk, please leave the internet, forever.

Titanic 2 is a successor to the first Titanic, much in the same way a #2 is a sequel to a #1, in "bathroom speak". They're both crap.
A "found footage" film, in Norwegian, about trolls, and the hunter and film crew that find them. If you aren't interested in this movie already, I'm not interested in you.
