My Top Five Sweet Love Songs

Songs have such an emotional impact. When your feeling down they have the power to fill you with happiness! But when your in love? Every word becomes your own. It is as if the words were written for you and the singer is directing every note for you and yours.

I have alot of songs that mean alot to me, but these are the Top Five Love Songs that bring a tear to my eye and take me back in the arms of my past love.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I and find the meaning to match your emotions of love.

Love Songs

Lionel Richie and Donna Summer

Number 5

Endless Love

Lionel Richie and Donna Summer offer the best duet of duets! Although this song has been covered by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross, the original is best as it provides the passion and devotion it was intended to have.

My love,
There's only you in my life
The only thing that's bright

My first love,
You're every breath that I take
You're every step I make

Brings tears to my eyes just writing the lyrics!

Endless Love

Chris Deburgh

Number 4

Lady in Red

Lady in Red was written and dedicated from the inspiration of seeing his wife for the first time. How romantic is that! And she was of course wearing- a red dress.

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, It took my breath away

Truly a love song straight from the heart.

Lady in Red

John Michael Montgomery

Number 3

I Swear

This song tears at my heart because it came at a time of true love for myself. My daughter was just born and so many plans of forever were being made. It tears at my heart because those plans faded as he did, and I am only left with the song.

I see the questions in your eyes
I know what's weighing on your mind
But you can be sure I know my part
'Cause I'll stand beside you through the years
You'll only cry those happy tears
And though I'll make mistakes
I'll never break your heart

I need to grab a tissue...I'll be right back with the Top Two.

I Swear

Luther Vandross

Number 2

Here and Now

Luther Vandross, in my opinion, is the "master of love songs." There are so many to choose from it was hard to pick just one for the number 2 spot. But Here and Now represents his truly enticing voice and beautiful lyrics.

One look in your eyes and there I see
Just what you mean to me
Here in my heart I believe
Your love is all I'll ever need
Holdin' you close through the night
I need you...

This song is not only perfect for new love but is played as "our song" at numerous weddings throughout the world. It is a wonderful song full of dedication and commitment.

Here and Now

Barry White

Number 1

Cant Get Enough of Your Love

Can't Get Enough of Your Love Babe is of course the song heard in many bedrooms across America in the 1970's. They say the baby boomers come from soldiers returning from the war, well, I have to say that Barry White was probably present with each conception.

How can I explain all the things I feel?
You've given me so much
Girl, you're so unreal
Still I keep loving you
More and more each time
Girl, what am I gonna do
Because you blow my mind

With Barry Whites sultry voice and presence of romance, how could I not place him at number one? Barry sets the mood for love.

I can not listen to "I swear" without laughing my head off. I think it's because of a movie I saw, but I like the rest of this list. I really like, "With you I'm Born Again," who even sings that, and Aqualung's "Garden of Love," except it's a break-up song. Thanks for putting this together.
