Tribute To My Fabulous First 100 Followers
Goals Are Good
A month ago, after reading hubs in the Hub Pages Learning Center I realized it was time to set goals for my work on Hub Pages. Well tonight, fittingly on the Friday after Thanksgiving, the first of those goals was met. I celebrate, with thankfulness, my first hundred followers. I am thankful for every one of you. I am completely amazed and delighted this has happened. Every day looking at hub comments, finding authors I hadn't met, reading their profiles and hubs has allowed me to meet all sorts of wonderful people who happen to be authors. Some of these authors intimidate me with the beauty of their work, but mostly they encourage me.
TinaAtHome, and Cyber Scribe you are the reason I write on Hub Pages. I cannot t hank you enough for your patient mentoring and encouraging. I love Hub Pages! All that you have taught me was finely tuned by JS Matthews, Jericho Usher and the wonderful staff of Hub Pages learning center. Robin when you taught me how to hyper link at Hub Camp I was in heaven. Simone, Maddie, and Robin make the learning center so amusing. I could go on and on about all the wonderful friends I have made at Hub Pages, but I have company coming.
Company just called to say they are running late. Yahoo! I can keep writing.
My international friends are so dear. My heart is always traveling to where you live with the intention of visiting your wonderful countries thumbi7 I enjoy learning about India. kerlynb you have shown me beautiful places and reminded me much about grammar. In Tune With Cooking I nearly died with embarrassment, at having thrown out too ripe bananas, when you mentioned how costly bananas were because of the cyclone. I will always make chocolate chip banana bread with any overly ripe bananas from now on. Promise! Eddwin the depth of your pain and the beauty of your writing make me yearn for Wales. Movie Master, I love your photography and the UK.
For all of my wonderful followers that I didn't acknowledge, please forgive me the memory is frail. Those of you who have wondered why I never return followed, please forgive me for that too. Apparently the stress of writing hubs made me forget my fathers advice, "To make friends you have to be a good friend".
Susan Miles I am totally bummed that I was your ninety ninth follower instead of your one hundredth. We have so much in common.
Fabulous followers you are my good friends. Some of you I don't always agree with. Still I feel it is vital to have friends and followers that you don't always agree with. How else can you see the other side of a dispute if everyone you know agrees with you. Bless you!
For my new to Hub Pages followers. Read Hubs, write hubs and write more and more. Especially Carolyn Ridge. I love reading your comments and would love to read more of your hubs..
Special Shout Out
Last but not least I have to THANK Youndesue, You are my oldest and dearest friend in the world. You have led me on wild goose chases all over the world, you have taught me it is healthy for friends to wrestle with big questions and not always agree. We are never surprised to see each other in odd places. We have shown up in the exact same dress. we look like sisters and the years only make us closer even though we haven't lived near for years, Thank you for being my friend and sister. Thanks for sharing your parents with me.
Fabulous followers I love you and wish you a wonderful new year of writing on Hub Pages.
Yesterday, two years after writing this hub, I was curious about how many of my first 100 followers were still active on Hub Pages. I knew at least one of my favorite followers never wrote more than two hubs, now even those are gone. Tina At Home, who started me writing for Hub Pages, still has over a hundred hubs and visits occasionally. She writes all over the place and is more hyperactive than I am. Love you Tina.
To my delight many of you are still doing well and enjoying Hub Pages.
I reconnected to my friend Thumbi7. Her hubs, and there are many, are amazing.
It was delightful to walk down memory lane and reconnect, but the greatest joy was to see Eddiwin and Kerlund74 whom I regularly visit were some of my first followers.
Love you all faithful followers.
Here we are, four years down the road, and I am more grateful for my faithful followers now, than I was flattered for the writers who visit my my humble site when I first began writing on Hub Pages. Some of you have walked me through my cancer road by your visits to my hubs Faithreaper, Jo Goldstein, SallyBea, Audrey Hewitt, Breakfast Pop, Kenneth Avery, Will Starr, Relach, Unnamed Herald, David Livermore, to name a few. You are my inspiration. You keep coming back. Paradignsearch you intrigue me and make me wonder about your wonderfulness. Billy Buc Thank you for the support. One of my goals a year or so ago was to learn to write better. I was in the process of taking a class and got waylaid. One day it occurred to me, "I am becoming a better writer while reading Bill's tutorials on writing and following his homework assignments. Y'es!' I am meeting my goals" To my wonderful followers whom I dearly love and appreciate.
All my best to you.
