What are the top 5 mangled song lyrics (think

A mondegreen is the name of the phenomenon of people mishearing a lyric and singing the wrong words when they sing along. Some people say that they the mondegreen victim projects their more base desires and unconscious thoughts into the mondegreen. If the Mondegreens below are any example then we are in a lot of trouble.

Here a few:

"you were amazing freaking amazing" instead of "You were amazing, we did amazing things"

"He's got the whole world in his pants" Instead of "He's got the whole world in his hands" mmm I might like to meet the first guy!

"Hold me closer, Tony Danza." instead of "Hold me closer, Tiny Dancer". Who would want to be held by Tony Danza???!!!

"Killing me softly with insults" Instead of "Killing me sofly with his song"

Finally "shes got 30 days to die instead of "Bette Davis Eyes"

There are literally hundreds of mondegreens out there, listen and I am sure that you will find some mondegreen victims amongst your friends and family!

I'll tell you what's hilarious. Bilingual mondegreens. My mother is from Colombia. After she moved to this country, she really got into American culture - in the 80's. This led to countless Spanish remixes (or mondegreens) of almost every 80's pop hit you can think of. OMG, when I hear my Mom reminisce about the old days and start singing those songs with the Spanish fillers it's a riot.

How about Sting singing "Sue Lawley, Sue Lawley, I feel Sue Lawley" instead of "So lonely-"

My sister thought for ages that, instead of the poem saying, "Little lamb, God bless thee", it was saying, "Little lamb called Blessly"

Oh you made me remember -- my mum and her brothers knew a family of kids called the Wisharts -- the Lord's Prayer then became clear to them ("Our Father Wishart in heaven. . ."), although they weren't exactly sure why.
