Who's the Best Supernatural Character?

Supernatural, CW's hit TV show follows the adventures of Dean and Sammy Winchester on their adventures across the country kicking ass and killing the dead. There are many great characters, some benevolent, a great many more less so. Here's my top ten, let's see how far off I am from the poll.

Number Ten: Jo Harvelle

More hardcore than she looks.

Alona Tal
Alona Tal

She may be dainty, but I wouldn't fight her. Jo starts out a little inept at hunting, but eventually become quite the badass. Her relationship with Dean moves from a sibling relation to a little more steamy as they become more similar. In the end she gave her life saving Dean.

Number Nine: Chuck Shurley

He might be God.

Rob Benedict
Rob Benedict

Chuck is an underachieving prophet of the Lord. He writes about the Winchester brothers through visions he has of their lives. Not only does he help the boys out time and time again, he is the quintessential human. He has his flaws, like drinking, lust, and laziness, but he makes up for it with his unyielding compassion. Also, He might be God.

Number Eight: Kevin Tran

How do you not feel bad for him?

Osric Chau
Osric Chau

Kevin Tran might be the most unlucky person in the series. He just wants to be regular overachieving teenager, but unfortunately he was blessed by being a prophet of the Lord. His mom died, he was abducted and tortured, he was made to stay in hiatus to translate tablets. It clearly hasn't been Kevin Tran's year.

Number Seven: Gabriel

He's either a dickish imp or and impish dick.

Richard Speight Jr.
Richard Speight Jr.

It doesn't matter if you call him Gabriel, The Trickster, or Loki, he has been screwing with people for a long time. As an angel, he is extremely powerful, but he doesn't choose to use it for any sort of significance. He uses his powers to amuse himself at the expense of humanity. His general mischievousness often causes a great pain the ass to Winchester boys.

Number Six: Charlie Bradbury

Just look at that face.

Felicia Day
Felicia Day

Charlie Bradbury isn't just a pretty face, she is a super-genius, possessing the spark of humanity that Leviathan just can't replicate. She is extremely out going and perky. The only thing she and Dean have in common is their love for women. She may not be the toughest person in the show, but she is the queen of live action role playing group.

Number Five: Bobby

Father in lieu of...

Jim Beaver
Jim Beaver

Bobby plays the role of father figure. He is homely, but extremely knowledgeable. He is always helping the boys out of a jam and knows all the ins and outs of the supernatural world. His importance doesn't stop at support and knowledge; Bobby can kick the crap out of demons when the situation calls for it. Bobby is also the only one that can keep those idjits, Sammy and Dean, in check.

Number Four: Crowley

Devious, clever, and powerful

Mark Sheppard
Mark Sheppard

Crowley is hands down the funniest character on the show. His intelligence and quick-wit not only make him hilarious, but very formidable. He is extremely patient and fastidious, but when he gets pissed off, he can explode. As the king of Hell, he is the perpetual antagonist of the show, but has on occasion teamed up with the good side when it benefits him.

Number Three: Dean

Guys want to be him; Girls want to change him

Jensen Ackles
Jensen Ackles

Dean is much more fun, and much less inhibited than his fraternal counterpart. He's always willing to flirt with the women and make a joke. He is often the comic relief, but he does have a very serious side too. He's clearly a badass, and kind of a dick (in a good way). That being said, he is extremely loyal to his friends and always adheres to what he believes is right.

Number Two: Sammy

Carefully following the road of good-intentions all the way to hell... Literally

Jared Padalecki
Jared Padalecki

Sam Winchester is dark and brooding, but that just makes it all the funnier when he cracks the occasional joke or prank. Sam is definitely the smarter of the two brothers; he's always doing the brunt of the research. The main point of his character-development is what side of the morally ambiguous line he walks. One minute he's drinking blood, the next he's saving lives.

Number One: Castiel

Everyone's favorite trench-coat wearing angel

Misha Collins
Misha Collins

There's many reasons to love Castiel. He was, in his God-state, the most powerful character that has ever appeared on Supernatural. Even after his God-state he is extremely powerful having all the regular powers of an angel and them some, not to mention his skill with the Angel Blade. His moral compass is, almost always, true, which distinguishes him from the other morally ambiguous characters of the show. His innocence is, actually, on many occasion laughable due to him not getting others cynicism and crudity. On the other hand, he is a pretty big fan of porn.

I show you mine, you show me yours.
