You're Next Horror Movie

You're Next is director Adam Wingard's fourth full feature horror film. The other three are Pop Skull (2007), Home Sick (2007), and A Horrible Way to Die (2010).

You're Next premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. It's about a family on a vacation getaway being attacked by a bunch of mysterious killers. It stars Sharni Vinson, AJ Bowen, Amy Seimetz, Barbara Crampton, Wendy Glenn, Margaret Laney, Rob Moran, Joe Swanberg, Nicholas Tucci and Ti West.

The film is written by Simon Barrett. Barrett has also written Wingard's 2010 film A Horrible Way to Die.

After premiering at the 2011 Toronto International Film festival, You're Next was next screened at the Fantastic Fest, a yearly film festival being held in Austin, Texas.

U.K., Canada and U.S. distribution rights for the film has been acquired in 2011 by Lionsgate.

You're Next Release Date

According to reports, You're Next will hit theaters on August 23, 2013. It will be distributed by Lionsgate who won a bidding war for the film against Paramount.

  • Pop Skull - Written by Lane Hughes, E.L. Katz, and Adam Wingard, Pop Skull is a semi-autobiographical movie that revolves around a pill-popping young man in Alabama living in a house haunted by murderous ghosts.
  • Home Sick - A home-coming get-together turns into a bloodbath when a psychopath with a briefcase filled with razor blades crashes the party and forces everyone to identify the names of the people they hate. The persons identified will then be gruesomely killed by a hooded supernatural killer.
  • A Horrible Way to Die - A recovering alcoholic who thinks she is finally getting her life together gets the shock of her life upon finding out that his psychotic ex-boyfriend has escaped prison and is out to get her.

Besides the feature horror film he made, Adam Wingard also made several short films. These are Little Sister Gone, Paradox Mary, 1000 Year Sleep, Laura Panic, The Girlfriend, and The Little One.
