A New Measure - Music in Six Fourths Beat by Christopher Dapo

Six Fourths Beat
Six Fourths Beat

Not 3/4, Not 4/4, But 6/4...

It sounds brutal don't it?

How the music quivers.

Perfectly harmonic.

Man it gives me shivers.

Don't just read about it,

Sing it up and hear it!

One two three four five six,

It'll raise your spirit!

It's a new addiction.

These aren't normal lyrics,

Put down your affliction,

Come and get your physics!

Why did I just say that?

What did I really mean?

Hit you with a big bat.

Now that's Six Fourths you've seen!

Hope You Like The Intro!

The day I wrote this I was just playing around with ideas and it just sort of fleshed out. I could hear it being used in many different forms of music. It's a very fast beat, sort of like a double-time tango feel, so it'll take some getting used to. Once you get into it though, I think the possibilities are quite endless!

I'll be working on stuff using the 6/4ths beat in the meantime.

See you there! ;)
