Animated Jesus Film

Have you ever watched a movie about Jesus? Many people have. If you're a Christian, you have probably seen the JESUS film, King of Kings, The Passion of the Christ, The Greatest Story Ever Told and other movies that interpret the life of Jesus.

No film can capture the fullness of Jesus Christ's humanity or divinity, and none can tell his full life story. But the better Jesus movies enable viewers to catch a small glimpse of the bigger picture. Many are excellent visual aids for understanding the Bible better.

In September 2011, The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) introduced a new evangelism tool called Jesus: He Lived Among Us. While staying true to the Scriptures, the animated film tells the familiar story of Jesus from a slightly different perspective.

VOM is an interdenominational, non-profit organization that supports the persecuted church around the world. The animated film focuses on the persecution aspect of the life of Jesus and his followers.

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also."

John 15:18-20, NIV

A Story of Persecution

Jesus: He Lived Among Us features 90 minutes of animated scenes that depict the life of Jesus, as told by his apostle John.

Known as "the beloved disciple" and "the disciple whom Jesus loved," John was a follower of Christ and one of his twelve apostles. In fact, he was the last surviving apostle.

The animated VOM movie focuses on the persecution aspect of the story, centering on the persecution and crucifixion of Jesus. It also examines the persecution of his followers like John, who experienced suffering for the sake of the Lord.

"Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith."

1 Thessalonians 3:7, NIV

Blessing the World

Jesus: He Lived Among Us appeals to people of all ages. Some see the film as an interesting retelling of a familiar story. Others, such as the struggling, persecuted church, find it to be a real blessing. Many Christians around the world experience extreme persecution, and the film gives them inspiration and hope.

Jesus: He Lived Among Us is also an effective evangelism tool. It is particularly helpful for the indigenous missionaries who share the gospel message in their part of the world.

Herald Entertainment produced the animated movie, and VOM dubbed the film in twelve languages. They are common languages from the world's most restricted areas (see the map and table below).

VOM has partnered with churches and other ministries to distribute the film on mission fields across the globe. Visit The Voice of the Martyrs to watch the trailer, download the script or learn how you can help distribute the film.

Thank you, Hyphenbird. And I hope people will read "Tortured For Christ," too. It's a very inspirational book from the founder of Voice Of The Martyrs.

I don't understand why Tortured for Christ is only available in English. I want some friends of mind to read it who only read Spanish, and am shocked to discover that they can buy it at Amazon, but there is no free version available. Why is that? It should not only be available in Spanish, but every other language on the face of the earth. Christianity is not something available only to the English-speaking. I must say that I am sorely disappointed.

Please don't get me wrong, I love the VOM, I love Mr. Wormbrand's book, (as painful as it is to read) and if I am mistaken I would appreciate it if someone could direct me to the correct site.
