    Should celebrities be ignored?

i don't see why some people are so obsessed with them, to the point that they talk or ask questions about celebrities all the time. should people ignore celebrities and stop paying them so much for so little?

It's all I hear about at work. It's all I hear about when I want to make friends. It's all I hear about when I want to date. The women are particularly bad. . . The only conversations I hear from women these days are their kids and their celebrities. I just can't bring myself to care or to listen. I'm sick of it!

Many days I aspire to living as a nomad in the woods, just to relieve myself from pop culture. Look at the world we're living in, and you're worried about rich people you've never met? And to make matters worse, I'm considered anti-social for not playing along!

Yes, they should. They are just people who are given a chance to be seen, in movies. We buy the movies they are in. Why should we pay attention to everything that happens in their life?
Funny you should say that. I'm watching the South Park episode with Paris Hilton called "Stupid Spoiled Whore".

You've got a point here, there are stars because the people made them relevant. If we simply ignore them and stop feeding their ego, they become normal like the rest of us.

Yes, the media wastes a great deal of time with celebrities.

There are many other individuals who are doing more noteworthy deeds and no one sees them.

A single mother bravely struggling to give food and shelter to her loved ones. A father who has worked hard and is laid-off because the company has gone overseas for better profits.

These unsung heroes are all around us. They should not be ignored.

There are genocides, wars and others human struggles going on around the world. However, the media is more interested in celebrities and revenues from their disrupting commercials.

Yes please!  I am sick of the bad boys and girls taking media time away from real news.  I am not sure why we do this.  They have jobs that happen to put them in the public eye--soooo?

It doesn't bother me that they get paid a lot--that is our capitalist system at work but I do get tired of the media obsession with celebrities or wanna be celebrities.

They should be treated the same way as we treat our friends. It is kinda ridiculous to do all those stuffs that you can read in the papers.

    Yes, they should be ignored.

After all, they should be respected or criticized for their work. Not for what they wear, and where they partied.

Celebrities can not be ignored, they are part of the master plan to distract the masses. Those who are obsessed are living through the lives of celebrities and that is exactly what media wants because then people will spend more money. There is a method to the madness.
