   It's about unrequited or failed love, which is one reason I like it so much.  In a lot of ways, the love you hold for someone you aren't currently with is the purest form of love.  Sure, most of the time, you're in love with an ideal rather than a person, but that's what makes it so pure.  It's your capacity for love, applied to all the things you like, undiminished by the things you don't.

    Come What May from the movie Moulin Rouge. My husband and I used this song as our first dance at our wedding reception. I can still hear him singing, "and there's no mountain too high, no river too wide, sing out this song and I'll be there by your side." These lyrics were even more appropriate than we would have guessed when planning the wedding because he left for Iraq two weeks after our wedding. We've been together 15 years and married for almost 8. Love the song and love the movie!

    Since I have been on youtube almost all the time searching out my old favorites and new, my current favorite love song is Thats The Time by Roberta Flack. I also like it because i am old! It reminds me of first girlfriends, holding hands, and that tingly romantic feeling that has been out of my life for far too long. Hello 70's, I miss you!

    Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. My husband used to be a DJ and on our second date he took me to a club where he DJ'd. When no one else would sing karaoke, he sang Wonderful Tonight and I fell in love with the song (and him!)

    Nothing Man from Pearl Jam - it seems to be about the loss of trust of your soulmate even though you take the correct view. It is a sad truth that sometimes there are core beliefs that have potential to separate people who love eachother. So we should always be truly sure before we decide to get into realtionship with something.

I like The Manhattans - Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye, The Chi-lites - Have You Seen Her, Foreigner - I Wanna Know What Love Is, The Beach Boys - God Only Knows What I'd Do Without You, Lou Rawls - You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine, and my favorite Christmas song, The Carpenters - Merry Christmas Darling. 
    My favorite of all time though, that reminds me of my true, true love is,
    Heatwave - Always and Forever.
