At 12:15 this morning, I finally got off an April Fool's joke-I've never done so before! And it was a good one.
We currently have 2 dogs in our household, soon to get another through adoption from my son. His house is simply too small to raise and care for a Chocolate Lab. So we'll be adopting 'Milo'. That makes 3. Milo has always been the 'subject of my coveting,' so I am thrilled.
So so very early on April Fool's day, I mentioned and asked my hubby if we could house, say, 10 dogs. He was non-plussed. "WHAT?", he exclaimed, wondering if I'd lost my mind. "Are you insane? Are you stupid or something?" His actual words!
I said in response, "Well, hon, we could take 10 in, just like Cheryl does up in Aspendell, (CA), she has at least 24 up there in cages in her backyard and they're malamutes-we have that much room here!?!"
His 'look' suggested absolute confusion and terror. Said my sweet Anthony, "Absolutely NOT!" "Are you SERIOUS?"
Finally, I exclaimed, "APRIL FOOL'S!!!!"
You should have seen the look of relief on his face, GDiBiase! It was priceless! And after... a...while, relaxed.
I laughed so hard I about fell out of my Lazy-Boy recliner!!! AND I was extremely proud of myself for finally getting 'it' right, fooling my love so thoroughly!
Mind you once more, this was the VERY first joke I've ever played on anyone on this April 1st. When I-over the years-have tried to think of a funny one, I'd usually come up with something morbid or scary. So I've never tried before, I wouldn't want to frighten anyone, in particular, my 2 year old grandson, Quinn.
And so, this is the funniest thing that happened to me today!
