   If a show that you regularly watch announced it is being cancelled, would you continue to watch?
   
   I was thinking more of dramas that build upon themselves as opposed to a sitcom. What do you think?

   That really depends. If I'm watching the show because I like it, and I wanted it to get renewed, I'd obviously continue watching and supporting the show until the very end of it. An example would be Awake on NBC. I really like the show (and I've heard many other people who do too), but ratings continue to drop (where are all those who like it now, huh?) so Awake will probably be cancelled some time soon. However since it is really intriguing me, I'll be sure to watch every episode as long as it lasts.
   
   If I thought, on the other hand, the show was only so-so and it got cancelled, I'd probably let go of it. For instance The Firm (also on NBC), was OK, but when it got moved to the Saturday night death slot, I stopped watching. The premise was nice, but worn-out. We have seen so many of those shows that it had to be excellent in order to survive.
   
   So I think the cancellation of a show (unless of course it is pulled off the air, that leaves us with no choice) is not really a reason to stop watching. Merely a point where you think: Do I really like this show, or are there better things I can do with my time?

   Yes! I know you're thinking more about dramas, but this happened with Community on NBC. It wasn't actually cancelled, but it was benched for the season. WE needed to get viewership up, so the only way to keep it on the air was to get people to watch it and buy the DVDs! If you like a show, definitely keep watching.

   Robin- I completely agree on Awake. That is what prompted my question. I want to find out what is really going on, but I am then wondering if I am wasting my time. But, you and The LifeExperiment are both correct, there is no chance in changing the cancellation if we stop watching!
   But, bottom line, the question is, how do you want to spend your time! I enjoyed your insights!

   Like Robin said it would depended on whether or not I liked the show. I've had many of my favorite shows become canceled, so I'm just used to it now.

   Yes!
   Although I hate seeing television shows I like being canceled I am pleased when they are able to notify us in advance and the writers have the opportunity to wrap up the show. More frustrating is when a show gets cancelled after it finishes production and the creators are not given the opportunity bring closure to audience members and loyal fans. Big story lines remain unfinished and questions remain unanswered.
   
   Although I was happy to see Terra Nova go.  That show was not good but for some reason I kept watching it. I am ok with not knowing what happens.
