What movie has the worst ending of all time?
Why was the ending so bad?
Signs. I never understood why aliens would want to take over a planet that is mostly water if water kills them. Also, I dislike any movie where somebody wakes up at the end and we find out it's all just a dream. That really irks me.
A lot of people would agree with you about Signs, but I think the movie with the worst ending ever is the so called ironic twist ending in the Mist (an otherwise great horror film).
I don't think the ending was too bad. Mel Gibson's character lost his faith when his wife was killed. After saving his son he regained his faith in God. It's apparent at the very end when he's preparing to leave for mass.
The Man in the Moon (1991) with Reese Witherspoon. I had no idea of what to expect. I felt irresistably drawn in by the adorable cast and then...bam! What a depressing finale. It was like the director ran out of money and decided to kill off one of the main characters to get it over quickly.
Toy Story 3 - believe it or not. It brought you up and let you down to sadness - not a typical Toy Story movie ending.
How was it sad? Yes, it's sad that Andy leaves, but the toys stay together. Plus, they get to enjoy a new home.
It reminded me of the empty nest syndrome when Andy went off to college - I guess it was one of those things where you have to be there in that situation. You are right they had a new beginning for old out-dated toys. Sad & happy - too. Sorry.
The Village. The trailers for the film made the movie out to be completely different than the actual movie was. So when the ending rolled around, which was supposed to be some twist it made you sit there thinking "Why the heck did I just waste my money on this?"

Sad ending (specially of books) depresses me a-lot. What should I do?Sad ending makes me sad for days. I cannot read a book...picking it randomly, without reading it's review or synopsis or asking someone who has already read it, "Tell me if it's not a happy ending...
