Does watching TV relieve stress or adds to stress?

Does watching TV relieve stress or adds to stress? What is the medical opinion on it? In my opinion, watching TV after a day's hard work relieves stress.

But Freddy you may still need to know what is happening in the world even if it does stress you out.

"Reality" shows make me want to throw something at the screen to make the dumb bastards go away. I don't want to watch shows about stupid people who will eat anything or fat people likely to be buried in piano cases rather than coffins.

Amen as far as idiot "reality" shows are concerned. They are cheap and the dumbness of them stresses me out. Love the cricket and Big Bang Theory.

I agree. One hour of news a day is a good diet.
