I love what is commonly called "classical" music because it can literally touch the soul.  Second would be old time rock n' roll, especially doo-wop.

I like music from the 80’s and 90’s. I’m only 30 but I find that the songs from yesterday seemed to have more feeling and were more sincere. Music used to be about the music, now society has concentrated on appearance, fame, who, what, where and why? I’d take an ugly singer with a great voice and lyrics over a beautiful singer that needs machines to produce a 3 week hit any day. Great voices are no longer a necessity, sure there are some great voices hitting the airwaves today but it used to be a requirement.

Agreed but I would go back even further.

      Everything is altered today.

The music I enjoy most is Hip hop because I love to dance and sing. It's very therapeutic. For whatever reason, dancing frees my mind and is also good for the physical body. I do it as often as possible.

I like all kinds of music. To me each genre is like a color of the rainbow that you get to see. And they all work together to paint the beautiful picture of what life is through song.
I grew up listening to Motown and Classic Soul because my parents are boomers and of course as a 90s kid, I love most anything from that era. I like Classic Rock and Country as well so I feel like all of it has something I can sing along to or relate to in some way.

I like history, music and dancing from the 30s to 70s.

When music and dance was real and their voices were real. When they actually played instruments for real also.

Today's young generation (some of them) have no clue that most dance and artists of today were inspired by yesteryear.

To name a few: Cab Callaway, Bill Bailey, Patti Lebelle, Elvis, osmonds and the list goes on.

There really is very little hope for entertainment today. It's mostly altered. I have an amazing dance video from the 30s but I do not know how to add it on here from a cell.

    Good question
    Have a nice day

Country, country and more country! I also like Top 40 Pop and R&B. Rap music is good too. I like most music. With the exception of classical and heavy metal. Not my cuppa tea.

I have fallen in love with the metalcore/deathcore genre for almost half a decade now. I have tried numerous time to pin points why, but could never figure out a specific reason. There's something about the harshness and emotions that are portrayed in the songs. I personally find most pop music and rap music fairly boring, but for some reason metal keeps up with my mental pace and keeps me content. Also, the community is great, and there are some many bands that you can personally connect to, so there is something more about their music then just how it sounds.

Band Examples: Architects, Whitechapel, After the Burial

I also listen to a lot of 90's alternative rock. I think the appealing part of this genre is that there are so many unique bands, but all have similarities at the same time. I enjoy the classic use of guitar, and drums, and many time the vocalists send important messages through their lyrics. Also, 90's alternative rock is such a large genre of music, there is always something that appeals to everyone.

Band Examples: Our Lady Peace, Bush, Moist, Matthew Good Band

Mostly hard rock/heavy metal/punk rock from the '70s, '80s and some '90s. Basically if it's got a good guitar riff, I'm in.
