Oh, I definitely don't get that!  I don't know anything about it, but I would check where that polling is coming from, to establish authenticity and veracity, because there are some tabloids out there that would pull something like that for the ensuing lawsuit to "confirm" their readership's opinions and act like its the truth.

From what I know of her, she is a sweet, caring, individual who doesn't put up a front for the cameras, and is another way completely away from them, so for me something like this sounds sketchy.

I don't get it, either. Though she's not on the list of my favorite celebrities, I don't hate her at all. I know some folks seem to think that she acts like she's better than anyone else, but I've never thought her to be anything but kind and helpful.

Wasn't she the one who named her kid "Apple?" That probably didn't score her many points.

With Chris Brown at 20, I can only conclude that they were pulling names out of a hat. I have seen some suggestions that the ire is in part from her 'cookbook,' and while I'll admit that her cookbook, which is one half a photo-album of her pretending to be every-woman, and one-half recipes involving cardboard, is a bit irritating, if that makes her the most irritating celebrity around than people have some very strange notions about irritation.

I think she's adequate as an actress and above average looking. No, I don't hate her. (For the record, I hate Tom Cruise and Julia Stiles. They are awful actors who are not believable for one second.) But I do know plenty of people who hate Gwyneth. My brother, for example. I wanted to watch "Contagion" again, and [spoiler alert] was able to coax him into watching it by telling him that she died terribly and that, during an autopsy scene, they carved her melon like a pumpkin. That worked. He just hates her, he says she's a terrible version of her mother (Blythe Danner), whom he is not in love with either. I typed in "why people hate..." and the first thing Google auto-complete suggested was "why people hate gwyneth paltrow." (Second auto-complete was Anne Hathaway, third was America.) I recommend you read http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/20 … hy_pe.html

I think its just jealousy more than anything, i mean she's a successful actress, a writer, and she has also met Iron Man. Yep its just jealousy.

It's probably the same reason some people "don't-like"/"hate" a whole lot of other people that they don't even really know or who otherwise "sets them off" for no real reason:  First, they imagine something about what the other person thinks/is; ;and then they "hate" them for what they've imagined (or else assume).

Or else, there's just something about the way another individual looks or sounds that makes some other people "hate" them.  No matter who someone is, there's no way they can guarantee that any number of "someone else's" aren't going to object to something about them and hate them for essentially no reason other than not what liking what they look or sound like.

There's no point trying to understand "hating" someone who hasn't personally done anything to the hater.

That is surprising, I think she is pretty nice. Maybe a biased poll counter?
Or maybe they just randomly chose celebrities to hate. if its a tabloid I would not believe a word of it. So many other annoying celebrities out there.

I find the whole idea of people voting on how much they "hate" people they have never even met or had any intersection with, somewhat obscene to be honest.  How can you seriously "hate" someone based on your limited perception formed as a result of media reports etc.  Bizarre!
