   What was your favorite cartoon to watch when you were a child?
   
   Cartoons are not what they used to be a few decades ago. Share three of your favorite classic cartoons. Mine were Bugs Bunny, The Road Runner, and the Flinstones.

   Ok, I loved many cartoons, from Yogi Bear to the Flintstones, so it's really difficult to decide on a top 3. But here goes:
   
   * Bugs Bunny - such a smart and irritating super rabbit
   * Top Cat - how he bamboozled Officer Dibble
   * Noggin the Nog - an English animation series all about medieval goings on - wonderful drawings and story lines.

   Anything "Looney Tunes" - Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote/Road Runner, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, etc.
   
   ... and y'know what? They still hold up well today!!

   Astro Boy, Johnny Quest, and the Bugs Bunny Hour or whatever it was called. I can assure you the 60s were one great time to be a kid on Saturday morning!

      I remember watching "The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest" all the time when I was younger.  I think a lot of early Hannah Barbera stuff was before my time...

   Cartoons and puppets for me:  Eureeka's Castle, David the Gnome, The Little Bits, Gargoyles, Duck Tales, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Freakazoid...oh, what else...?  The Secret Life of Toys and Fraggle Rock.  If I ever chanced upon the Muppet Show, but I think I found Muppet Babies more often.  I remember watching lots of Nickledeon stuff, but they were mostly live actors like Ghost Writer and Are You Afraid of the Dark?  Ha, I do remember the Super Mario Bros Super Show too...ah, nostalgia

      Gargoyles had a Star Trek: the Next Generation connection. I believe that the guy who played Worf  was also the voice of the lead Gargoyle. I liked Gargoyles.

   Popeye, Felix the Cat and Clutch Cargo. (I'm dating myself on that last one) I could watch Clutch Cargo before I went to school. On very early. And, it wasn't a comedy; it was an ongoing adventure. Look it up. It's interesting if you've never heard of it.

      They did! That was part of what made it so cool. I say "cool" because it was ahead of it's time, as far as combining cartoon with real people.

      Schoolhouse Rock...Its far before my time, but I have seen some of its clips on Youtube and we had a Schoolhouse Rock Math computer game once.  "Hey little Twelve Toes~!"

    Flintstone and also the Jetsons.  The rest I watched but I was kind of lukewarm about them. I loved the original Mickey Mouse Club.

    Growing up I loved the holiday Peanuts specials. I loved it when Snoopy hopped up onto his dog kennel to fly through the air and take on the Red Baron. I still have my old Snoopy VS The Red Baron records. It wasn't just the animation. I loved the music. It was lovely jazz in most places. I was a bit of a round-headed kid so I could sympathize with good ol' Charlie Brown. I laughed at Lucy's bossiness. I loved the psychiatrist stand, the kite eating tree, Schroeder playing the piano and trying to stay out of Lucy's clutches, the mystery of the Great Pumpkin, Peppermint Patty falling asleep and snoring in class, etc. The Peanuts movies really were holiday treats. 
    
    When it came to animation on a daily basis there was Astroy Boy (on his mission today), Marine Boy (underwater action with his boomerang), Felix the Cat (with his bag of tricks), and Top Cat (the leader of the gang).

    When I was a child, Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry were my favorites. Then, when I was a pre-teen, I switched to Transformers and G.I.Joe. As I entered my teens, the favorites were ThunderCats, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
    
    Now that I'm an adult, I still watch the occasional cartoon. I love Phineas & Ferb, and I also think the new version of TMNT is pretty good.

    My favorite cartoon to watch when I was young was the animated version of Dennis the Menace. It would always come on right before school every morning and I would be in the doorway watching the last part while waiting for the school bus to show up.
