   The Exorcist.  And I had to sleep with the lights on for about a week, with my Rosary close at hand (I was Roman Catholic back then).  That movie scared the ***** out of me.  Other than that, no other movie has scared me as much.

      Yes, the Exorcist is by FAR the SCARIEST movie ever.  Creeeeepeeeeeee, even the music was unnerving...........

      I went to see the Exorcist at a drive in movie. Before the movie started, lightning destroyed the big screen! We saw the lightning bolt hit it. Then after I saw it, my friend dated Linda Blair. Scary!

   When I was a kid I was afraid of spiders and my parents had us watch Arachnophobia. While the movie isn't scary now as an adult at the time I was traumatized, I kept thinking I saw spiders everywhere, on the floor, in the fridge, on my bed. Needless to say I didn't sleep well for the next week or so until I got the movie out of my head.
   
   Up until a few years ago I still shook out my shoes before I put them on despite the fact that doing so has never once produced a single spider hiding in there.
   
   I'd also put the movie The Thing up there (John Carpenter's version), while it's never caused me any bad dreams it's one of the scariest movies ever. I'd also put Ridley Scott's ALIEN on the list.

   The original "Amityville Horror" got me really bad when I was a kid... I didn't sleep for about three days!

   My scariest movie was Alien with Sgorney Weaver. I had real trouble falling asleep after that because it felt like something was trying to eat its way out of my chest! hahaha. Loved it!

   I confess, I do not~~ will not watch scary movies.  I even have a tough time with War movies or any kind of blood & guts.  No thank you.  Give me a good Drama, Mystery or Romantic Comedy.
   
   However, if this counts, I do watch the TV program "Criminal Minds" and it gets pretty gory.  I'm very quick at turning my head though......I usually bury it in my pillow and wait until the spooky music stops before I look back.

   Horror movies don't really scare or unnerve me that much. They never have, I sort of grew up on them.
   
   But when I first watched the American adaptation of Japanese horror film Ju-On (called The Grudge in english) I did have a few nights where I dreamed that Kayako was crawling down a flight of stairs after me. Ugh...no thank you.

   The scariest movie/s for me was "The Ring" and "Paranormal Activity - the very first one. After having watched Paranormal Activity in a local theatre I struggled to sleep for nearly two straight weeks. That movie just scared the living daylights out of me and I vowed I would never watch another horror movie ever again. That movie literally scarred me for life and I had to sleep with a night light on for almost a month straight after watching it. I promised myself: Never Again!
