Do you think beautiful, half nude women in hub photos attract more "readers"?

Regardless of the content, it seems having sexy photos helps get visitors to your hub. What do you think?

I disagree.  In Marketing, we learn that while sex does sell, it only sells if it's related to the product.  So, sexy photos of half-nude people selling soap or perfume works, but sexy photos of half-nude people selling peanut butter doesn't.

I think that the graphics used in connection with the Hubs should be relevant to the content contained in the hub and not just attention-getting photos.

I don't really know. It does not really attract me personally probably because I am a straight female.Besides who visits this site to talk to  "sexy" women and look at their  tiny-winy pics?

I'm sure it will pull in the guys...for a few seconds anyway. I don't know if they will take time and read the hub?

It will definitely bring you more traffic.  The issue is that, if it isn't relevant, it is a false way of getting traffic.  If it isn't related, it is just playing off people's interest in sexy women and not based on their interest in the topic.

Must work at least once.  I just read StormRyder's hubs.

While it may have some impact on traffic, if it's not related to the hub then the traffic is worthless - my concern is that on a whole it detracts from the quality of Hubpages and therefore eventually sites like Google, and other directories will make it harder for Hubs to be listed or featured.

Quite often when I visit Hubpages I am dismayed by the number of 'front page' sites showing a half naked woman - especially as probably 50% of these hubs have content that does not relate to the picture. It's not good for Hubpages....

Personally, I agree with SimeyC -- it is not good for Hubpages overall.

It brings down the quality and authenticity of the site as a whole.  It might bring in straight guys for a moment, but its not the kind of traffic that stays or converts to ad money.

    Just my opinion!

I think it attracts more "readers" for a couple reasons.  For one, anytime you have a lot of pictures on your hub, blog post, article, etc., your odds have increased greatly for getting traffic from "image searches."  I know Google's image search is big, and MSN & Yahoo! both have this function, as well.

As far as HubPages:  Well, I too, have noticed that it sort of taints the quality...as often times, a lot of pictures can be a compensation for lack of content.  And, like what was already mentioned here, sometimes the images are not related to the topic at hand.

Besides, half-naked girls are distracting.  How am I suppose to read anything with all that good stuff being exposed?

Sure they do. Why would HubPages be any different than anything else when it comes to marketing? Sex sells. Always has. Always will.
