What are you favourite Documentary Films

Im in a real documentary film phase at the moment. Just watched Biggie and Tupac which was fantastic.
My favourite has to be Grizzly Man
Also The Cove and Bowling for Columbine are brilliant.

What have you seen recently and what are your recommendations?

I like that tepid account of the near-fall of Middle Earth... Lord Of The Rings, I think?

Nah, seriously, Planet Earth was actually pretty good.

Planet Earth was EXCELLENT, actually. Sorry for the correction, ryancarter, but it had to be said. Supersize Me and Bowling for Columbine (except for Michael Moore's presence) were good too.

"If Only I Were an Indian" -- It's a great film about a subculture in the Czech Republic that follow the customs of First Nations people. They live in tepees and partake in Native rituals- it's really interesting and kind of bizarre.

I thought that "The Thin Blue Line" was good, and that "Planet Earth" was jaw-droppingly great.  And c'mon, who doesn't like the fortitude of the birdies in "The March of the Penguins?"

March of the penguins, if you love animal documentaries, you got to watch this.

"The Cove" is a great documentary film about the dolphin trade and dolphin slaughter in Japan and "China Blue" that exposes the inhumane conditions of garment factory workers in China

I absolutely loved the Planet Earth series. Also think March of the Penguins, The Cove and Bowling for Columbine were amazing. As for more experimental style documentaries, I love Baraka and Latcho Drom.
