Randy Newman is a satirist, or troublemaker and just likes to write controversial , sarcastic lyrics.
He now has a new ditty,"I'm Dreaming of a White President"
Maybe this should have been listed under politics but he is an entertainer, after all.Listen and tell what you think about it.

He is probably trying to get people to think...that's a tall order now a days..
I think Newman's song is his attempt to spotlight the problem of racism in the U.S. which still exists even though many people hide their true feelings behind the cloak of political correctness. The hostility engendered by a presidential contest between a sitting African-American president and a white male contender has brought the ugliness of racism more into the light of day. Newman is trying to call attention to it.
Unfortunately, many people do not understand what satire is or its purpose. They may take the song literally. Of that number, some will be offended. Others (hard-core racists who hate President Obama because of his race) will think the song lyrics are RIGHT and cheer the song on! If you read responses to political articles on Yahoo, you will soon see the prevalence of the latter type of person. Their mindset is very clear in the hate-filled words they post.
It is not only political partisanship that is tearing the United States of America apart at the seams, but racism and hatred for government by too many of the country's population.
