How is comics NOW! so far? Is it heading in the right direction?

Western comics are in a slump, particularly the Marvel/DC universes. They're afraid to try anything new, and thus have been stagnant for the past 20-25 years. I would like to see more independent works like Watchmen, Maus, and Pride of Baghdad, though.

Eastern comics, such as manga, are doing much better and have many more worthwhile titles, mostly because they don't have to obey a near-monopoly of two businesses and their licensed universes. It would be nice if more manga were in color, but that's a nitpick.

      Wasn't Watchmen DC?

Haha, yeah, Watchmen is a DC license using exaggerated and twisted versions of characters like Blue Beetle and The Question.

Anyways, there's so many great non-superhero comics available, if you're not reading them it's your own fault. Morning Glories, The Walking Dead, Unwritten, Locke and Key, Saga, Atomic Robo, and others are all really popular and you're not going to see Superman or Captain America show up in any of them.

Are you referring to Marvel NOW, the creative shuffling that relaunched some books and mixed and matched creators? It's all right.
