This was the first movie I saw in a theater and I was inconsolable at the end. "Not my Rickyyy!" Oh, kills me! My poor babysitter had taken me and I remember her trying to tell me that it was just a movie, but I knew that it was TRUE. Sad times, good flick.
Good picks (and pics) all around! Thanks for the Spinal Tap scene -- I knew before I even clicked on it it was going to be the "11" scene. Christopher Guest is a genius. And "A Mighty Wind" is his comedic take on folk music.
Concert movies definitely count. Two of my faves have always been "The Last Waltz" about The Band and "Gimme Shelter" -- the historic Stones concert at Altamont.
I really love the music in "Lady sings the Blues" its the life/bio of legendary Jazz and Blues singer Billie Holiday. Dianna Ross actually did a pretty descent job playing the role of one of my all time favorite singers.
The acting was not too great in the "Jazz singer" played by Neil Diamond. But I like his music. (do I dare admit to owning all of his records, tapes including the ones on eight track, CDs and movies)
MM, I watched "The Doors" movie with my daughter a couple of months ago for the first time. It is really well made, I was surprised. zs
Rock in its pure form. Not pop-rock. Not country-rock , nor any other rock. Rock for Rock's sake. You may have an entirely different set of songs in your list. For, there are really 100s of pure rock songs. But...
