"This is the first day of my last days.
Build it up, now I take it apart,
    Climb up real high,
    Now fall down real far."

"No need for me to stay,
    The last thing left,
    I just threw it away."

"Put my faith in God and my trust in you,
Now there's nothing more f*cked up I could do."

    "Wish there was something real,
    Wish there was something true,
Wish there was something real in this world full of you."

"I'm the one without a soul,
I'm the one with this big f*cking hole."

    "No new tale to tell,
26 shoes on my way to hell."

"Don't think you're having all the fun,
You know me, I hate everyone."

    "Wish there was something real,
    Wish there was something true,
Wish there was something real in this world full of you."

That's a song by Nine Inch Nails called "Wish."  I once listened to this song 32 times in a row in my room, as loud as I could.

    Boy, that felt good smile

Love will tear us apart by Joy Division

When routine bites hard, and ambitions are low
And resentment rides high, but emotions won't grow
And we're changing our ways, taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart again --

Why is the bedroom so cold? You've turned away on your side
Is my timing that flawed - our respect run so dry?
Yet there's still this appeal that we've kept through our lives
Love, love will tear us apart again --

You cry out in your sleep - all my failings expose
There's a taste in my mouth, as desperation takes hold
Just that something so good just can't function no more
When love, love will tear us apart again --

The best Angst-filled song for me is My Chemical Romance.  "I'm Not Okay (I promise)"  It's fast paced, hardcore, and makes me feel better after listening to it a couple times.

    "I'm not okay
    I'm not okay
    I'm not okay
    You wear me out

What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems?
    (I'm not okay)
I've told you time and time again you sing the words but don't know what it means
    (I'm not okay)
To be a joke and look, another line without a hook
I held you close as we both shook for the last time take a good hard look!

    I'm not okay
    I'm not okay
    I'm not okay
    You wear me out

    Forget about the dirty looks
    The photographs your boyfriend took
You said you read me like a book, but the pages all are torn and frayed

    I'm okay
    I'm okay!
    I'm okay, now
    (I'm okay, now)

But you really need to listen to me
Because I'm telling you the truth
    I mean this, I'm okay!
    (Trust Me)

    I'm not okay
    I'm not okay
    Well, I'm not okay
    I'm not o-fucking-kay
    I'm not okay
    I'm not okay
    (Okay)"

    Its fantastic.

    'Right now' by KoRn

Great lyrics; this is the first verse:

    I'm feeling mean today.
    Not lost, not blown away.
    Just irritated and quite hated
    Self control breaks down.
    Why's everyday so tame?
    I like my life insane!
    I'm fabricating and debating
    Who I'm gonna kick around...

I can't post anymore on here without getting banned but you get the idea.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
    I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
    Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

    Fret for your figure and
    Fret for your latte and
    Fret for your hairpiece and
    Fret for your lawsuit and
    Fret for your prozac and
    Fret for your pilot and
    Fret for your contract and
    Fret for your car.

    It's a
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
    Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

    Silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

    Learn to swim.

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.

    Learn to swim.

    Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
    Fuck all his clones.
    Fuck all those gun-toting
    Hip gangster wannabes.

    Learn to swim.

    Fuck retro anything.
    Fuck your tattoos.
    Fuck all you junkies and
    Fuck your short memory.

    Learn to swim.

    Fuck smiley glad-hands
    With hidden agendas.
    Fuck these dysfunctional,
    Insecure actresses.

    Learn to swim.

    Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna watch it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
    Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

    I can't imagine why you wouldn't
    Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
    suck it down.
    flush it down.

Very powerful song and one of my favorites, your sons have great taste.

'Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.'

I guess that makes it your job to fix it all then. big_smile

      Good luck with that.

until they explained to me the lyrics, the song used to make me crazy, but once I understood what they were talking about, it's a powerful song with equally powerful music.

    Alanis Morissette
    Song: You Oughta Know
    Album: Jagged Little Pill

I want you to know, that I'm happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
    An older version of me
    Is she perverted like me?
Would she go down on you in a theatre?
    Does she speak eloquently?
And would she have your baby?
I'm sure she'd make a really excellent mother

*’Cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, ‘til you died
    But you're still alive*

**And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
    You, you, you oughta know
    **
You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity?
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fuck her?

‘Cause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me
    And I'm not gonna fade
As soon as you close your eyes and you know it
And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back
I hope you feel it... well can you feel it?

When Eric Clapton did " If I saw you In heaven " on MTV unplugged back when they played music It was one of the best songs and most moving performances I have ever witnessed . His son had just passed away and he wrote that song for him . Absolutely riveting.

Talk to Me While I'm Listening by Nanci Griffith  Flyer Album

Should have known that you were gone back in Germany, you told me in the dark while I was sleeping. And you slept through the sunrise as it washed across your face, and all that I had heard were our hearts beating.  Talk to me while I'm listening now while this love has a voice that we both can hear. Before you let it go the greatest love I've ever known won't you please talk to me while I'm listening.      Makes me cry every time I hear it.

There are many but I would settle for "Please don't cry daddy" by Elvis. The pain in the song of a child torn by its parents' divide is searing

The song that instantly comes to mind is the Smiths' "How Soon Is Now".  Morrissey is so melodramatic - I can only take him when I'm in a particularly self-deprecating mood.
