For those who don't know he is the star of the hit TV show Deadliest Catch...apparently on the 29th of January he suffered a stroke while in Alaska and at the age of 53 has passed away today.

R.I.P. Phil...you will be missed by your family, your crew, and your fans. and even though I only caught your show a few times, you did a great job being captain of your ship!

I never missed an episode of Deadliest Catch. Captain Phil was one of those larger than life kind of guys that you couldn't help but to like. He's going to be missed by a lot of people.
