it seems that nicolas cage has struck a deal where he will be reprising his role as johnny blaze aka ghost rider after all in the sequel aptly called "Ghost Rider:  Spirit of Vengeance."  How do you feel about it?  Good? Bad? Don't care?  Please discuss.  big_smile

Cage seems to be knocking out a movie a year at the rate he is going.  I think he is a good actor but a lot of his recent stuff is just cr*p!

      And what's with the hair??

Shave it off man, your going bald....accept it!

I think he did a decent job in the first one. I loved Sam Elliot.

I wouldnt have it any other way.

I hate when franchises change their main actor.

I wasnt overly impressed with Ghost Rider, I think it could be done better hopefully it will this time

The first film was forgettable, I just hope that the second is better..

As to Mr Cage, well it's better than doing a "Batman" and having a different actor and style every time...

they needed to replace bond actors as they get old through the years. I guess you don't want to see sean connery doing bond today big_smile

I thought the first film of Ghost Rider was good, except the bad guys didn't really do the film justice, but I liked the way Ghost Rider looked and his bike too, really like the comic book.

Just hope they bring some of the villains from the comic book and give them a better part to play!

yeah, i agree.  i thought they created a pretty bad a** ghost rider in the first film, but it seemed like the villains were portrayed rather weak.  i hope they up the ante in the sequel this time around.

I dislike it when franchises change atcor half way through, it's one of the reasons why the "Hulk" movies have suffered. But I can make an exception when it comes to "Ghostrider" as Cage was part of the problem. He's too much of a fan of the comic and appears to have this idea of what he thinks Johnny Blaze should be. Now his idea for Johnny Blaze may be right but Cage isn't the right man for the role.

I think Cage overacts.  Sometimes it works in his favor, most times it doesn't. But I do like that he puts all of himself into it.

yeah, i agree with you about that.  cage is one of those type of actors where he's only as great as the script you give him. if you give him a cliche ridden garbage of a script, then he'll end up hamming it up big time. however, if you give him gold, then he can come off being brilliant.

He is a very good actor, and I honestly can't picyure anyone else playing the part.

yeah, that would be cool to see spidey and venom in ghost rider, and they're both owned by sony.  that would be cool.

I thought the first one sucked, but don't blame him. Maybe this one will actually be better than the first.

Why does Hollywood insist on making sequels to movies nobody went to see the first time around?
