Katie Price And Alex Reid Split!

Katie Price has always led her life in front of the cameras but that have also been her downfall. Her four year marriage to Peter Andre ended back in May 2009 when photo's of Katie partying with horse trainer Andrew Ghould were released to the press.

Now her marriage to Alex Reid has also come to end, the marriage had been rocky for months despite the fact they have not even been married a year. But the final straw came when Alex Reid allegedly sold photo's of himself and Katie's son Junior to the press after Katie expressed that her children should be shielded from the media spotlight now that they are old enough for it to effect their lives.

Katie is said to believe that Alex used her son to make himself look like the doting step father and it has deeply hurt her that anyone would use one of her children in this way.

When Katie and Alex Reid first married everyone predicted it would end just as quickly as it started, it was too soon after Peter Andre, and Katie needed time to find herself again and get herself and her children settled first. But in true Katie fashion she jumped in the deep end head first and is now set for another messy divorce less than two years after the first one.

Newspapers and magazines are already going mad for the latest story on their split, with numerous celebrities already jumping on the band wagon.

Before Katie had even released her statement regarding the split many tabloids were speculating and Peter Andre also released a comment when he wrote in his 'New column' this week "Everyone keeps asking me what i think about my ex-wife and her husband splitting up. At the time of writing this column, they hadn't confirmed anything, but all i will say is, as always, my main concern is for my children and i am doing everything in my power to give them as stable an upbringing as possible. All i care about in this situation is my kids."

Funnily enough it was also 'New Magazine' that had the heading 'Alex on Jordan The Truth Exclusive' but to anyone that bought the magazine they will know that it was not an exclusive with Alex, it was actually all hear say made up from comments of supposed close friends and 'sources close to the stars'.

Kerry Katona also took the opportunity to comment on her old rivals marriage split this week, when she used her OK column to take a swipe at Katie. Kerry wrote "I think it's funny that she waited until Pete came out about his relationship with Elen Rivas to start talking about her marriage split." Kerry Katona is hardly one to talk about other peoples marriage troubles and considering the speculation on Alex and Katie's marriage woes started long before Peter Andres new relationship was announced, along with the fact that Katie Price has done no interviews just makes Kerry Katona's comments look quite stupid and senseless.

Yesterday evening Katie Price released this statement to the press

"Alex and I have had a number of difficulties over the past few months. I accept that these were in part caused by my marrying too quickly - we all make mistakes and this was one. However, Alex changed from the man I fell in love with and some of his behaviour became difficult for me to understand and caused issues. I have tried to help him with these issues but they have put a considerable strain on our relationship."

"Our difficulties were also not helped by Alex becoming more fascinated by life in the media eye. Obviously I cannot be critical of someone wanting to do this and originally I tried to help him with his career by getting him contracts with my production company. If Alex wants to honour those contracts the production company is more than happy to do so. However, Alex’s desire to promote himself caused a change in the dynamic of our relationship and contributed to our alienation."

"Alex and I have spent many hours discussing our relationship and trying to make it work but the issues between us are too deep-rooted. I had hoped that we could end our relationship amicably and without a war of words in the media. I appreciate that there are those that will not believe that but I had agreed I would say nothing more than the statement we had jointly prepared. This was not because I am concerned what Alex may truthfully disclose but to give him comfort that I would not discuss the issues that so strained our relationship.

"I had hoped that Alex and I could remain friends but I am not sure if that is possible given events since last Sunday when we were on the verge of releasing a statement. Alex asked that we did not release any statement because he wanted more time to think. The intervening period has, however, seen a number of false stories appear and photographs of Alex with my son Junior in the gym which it is absolutely clear were posed for.

"Alex is fully aware that I have sought to remove my children from the public eye now they are of an age to understand and be affected by media coverage of them. I feel incredibly let down that he did this while asking me for more time to discuss our relationship and just hope that the stories circulating that he sold those pictures are not true.

"It is true that I have asked Alex to leave the family home and that he will not do so. I would leave myself but the house is equipped for Harvey’s needs. Alex would like to portray himself as honourable and I hope he acts that way. Contrary to some reports I have not discussed financial matters with my divorce lawyers.

"I would like to make clear that the allegations that I have been dragging out any announcement so that my film crew can capture on film Alex’s upset are complete fabrication. I am deeply upset that my relationship with Alex has failed but I know it is the right thing for my children and I that we separate. My children are my absolute priority in this and they are being shielded from what is happening."

Alex Reid is said to be angry that the statement was released, he said Katie changed once she heard about Peter Andres relationship with Elen Rivas, although their marriage was in trouble long before this news hit the headlines. Alex says he is adamant that he will get every penny out of Katie that he is 'owed' and will make sure the whole world will know about their marriage..............for a price of course!!

Most people don't care about this couple, but a lot cant help reading every detail like its the latest soap opera. Katie's children must be very confused right now, they have just been introduced to their Dads new girlfriend Elen Rivas and now their Mum has split from their step Dad.

However it wont end there as every part of their split and their divorce will be dragged out in the press. There will be a war of words and no doubt Alex Reid will want to come out on top just like Peter Andre did, perhaps he will even join the 'I Hate Katie Club' that is Can Associates to you and me.

In my opinion Katie Price has always loved the spotlight but Alex Reid certainly loved it more. His reality show 'I am Alex Reid' was cringe to watch and just like when he was in the Big Brother house he referred to himself as a 'Celebrity' at every opportunity and loved to show off.

This is probably what caused their split because they were too alike but regardless of this everyone will still feel sorry for Alex and believe whatever he says because they love to hate Katie Price.

Alex Reid was unheard of to most people until he started dating Katie Price, and when Katie gets a new fella which i have no doubt she will, then it will soon be Alex who?? and the whole media circus that is Katie's life will start all over again.
