Great TV Shows from the U.S.A.
Some of My Favorite Shows
I have a sort of eclectic taste in TV Shows, Nikita, The Chicago Code, The Big Bang Theory,The Unit, and Sanctuary are all favorites of mine.
These are but to name a few, but I think for now this will keep you going. Contrary to what the length of the list implies, I really don't watch television often, what you don't believe me?
Enjoy the lens, enjoy my choice of television shows, and remember to cast your vote.
Nikita
The Fast Action Beauty
Ok, I wasn't sure prime time needed another butt-kicking action babe, but seeing the stunning Maggie Quigley in action, I have to admit, I am smitten by her. Yes, I record every series, and when I have some down time, kick back and watch to my enjoyment, owe yea, the story line ain't bad also :-)

The Big Bang Theory - The Best Bang for Your Money
Still going strong and still one of the best comedy shows on the television today. This is a show I've really taken a liking too, It's hilarious, and from my point of view one of the funniest shows ever, I highly recommend catching a few episodes.
What's it all about, well please read on!
Set in Pasadena, California, the show is centered on five characters: two roommate Caltech geniuses, experimental physicist Leonard Hofstadter and theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper; their neighbor across the hall Penny, an attractive blonde waitress and aspiring actress; and Leonard's and Sheldon's equally geeky and socially awkward co-workers and friends Howard Wolowitz, an Aerospace engineer and a non-PhD from JPL, and Rajesh Koothrappali, a particle astrophysicist postdoc also working at Caltech.
The geekiness and intellect of the four guys are contrasted for comic effect with Penny's social skills and common sense.Three other supporting characters have also been promoted to main cast status for a few episodes: Leslie Winkle, a Caltech colleague of Leonard, Sheldon, and Raj; Bernadette, a microbiology student who works with Penny part time as a waitress; and Amy Farrah Fowler, a friend of Sheldon's.

The Chicago Code
So why is this on my favorite list, well check out the review below.
The series follows officers of the Chicago Police Department as they fight crime on the streets and try to expose political corruption within the city. Veteran Chicago Police Detective Jarek Wysocki leads the special unit against fighting the corruption. Wysocki was assigned to head the special unit by his boss the newly appointed first-female Chicago Police Superintendent and his one time partner, Teresa Colvin. Also on the unit is Caleb Evers, a young detective and Wysocki's latest partner. During their investigations the detectives often encounter police officers Vonda Wysocki (Jarek's niece) and Vonda's partner Isaac Joiner. Undercover officer Liam Hennessey works the streets as he gets information on the Irish mob and their connection to the corruption. Believed source of the corruption is Alderman Ronin Gibbons, a powerful and influential politician in Chicago.

Sanctuary - My Sacred Place
Love the characters, love the plot, this show provides ample entertainment for all the family. I usually record and watch during quiet times, but, this program, like a few others, I can't wait and watch the live version.
Why? well read on and decide if this is for you.
Sanctuary follows the adventures of the beautiful, enigmatic and always surprising Dr. Helen Magnus, her new recruit, forensic psychiatrist Dr. Will Zimmerman and her fearless daughter Ashley. Together they track down, study and protect the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world and live among us.
Although dismissed as monstrous figments of our imaginations and the stuff of our childhood nightmares, Magnus recognizes that the world is full of nature's mistakes and triumphs and has the spectacular proof that they are indeed real.
Will, an insightful psychiatric profiler with a knack for finding the strange and curious, reluctantly joins the team to aid in the study of beings he can hardly believe himself. Together, Magnus, Will, Ashley and quirky tech-whiz Henry, use their unique combination of instinct, medicine and cutting edge technology to find the creatures that lurk in the corners of our civilization and protect us from those too dangerous to be roaming free.
Sanctuary stars Amanda Tapping as Dr. Helen Magnus (Stargate SG-1), Robin Dunne as Dr. Will Zimmerman (Dawson's Creek), Emilie Ullerup as Ashley (jPod), Christopher Heyerdahl as the sinister John Druitt (Stargate Atlantis) and Ryan Robbins as Henry Foss (Battlestar Galactica).
Braving new worlds in each episode is just the start for Sanctuary. The series is also proudly credited for pioneering new techniques and technology in television production.

The Unit - Where All The Action Is
After watching a few episodes, I opted to get the DVDs for this show as opposed to watching on television, they accompany me on these long haul flights that I take now and again, and that normally don't provide any reasonable in-flight entertainment, armed with my trusty little Multi Format Portable DVD Player I can usually handle a 10-12 hour flight watching all the action, if you've not seen this show, then it may be worth your while to check it out.
What's the mission, listen up!

Alphas
OK I hear you say, awe no! not another science fiction dramatic television series, but give it a chance and it may grow on you, especially Ryan Cartwright who plays Gary Bell - A young autistic man who lives with his mother and is socially functional to a degree. He has the ability to view and interact with wireless communication signals out of thin air and process information faster than any computer.
Alphas is an action-packed thriller from writers Zak Penn (The Avengers, X-Men: The Last Stand) and Michael Karnow. In the series, five ordinary people are brought together to form one extraordinary team of Alphas -- people with the unique power to stretch the capabilities of the human mind giving them superhuman physical and mental abilities.
Operating within the Defense Criminal Investigation Service of the U.S. Department of Defense and led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen, an expert in Alpha phenomena, the team investigates cases that point to others with Alpha abilities. As they work against the clock to solve this new brand of crime, they must prevent their own personality differences and disparate backgrounds from interfering with their ultimate mission to catch the enemy.
So are you an Alphas Fan ?
Terra Nova
Terra Nova is an American science fiction drama television series.
The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction due to dwindling worldwide air quality and overpopulation. It has become virtually impossible for humanity to survive, and almost no vegetation exists. At Hope Plaza, a massive ring shaped structure in Chicago, scientists discover a rift in space-time that allows people to travel 85 million years back in time to the late Cretaceous period of a prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddie, and Zoe) join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova becoming part of the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway.
The Shannon Family starts a new life in Terra Nova while dealing with carnivorous dinosaurs and the Sixers, a splinter group of colonists from the Sixth Pilgrimage with a secret agenda.

Person of Interest - Drama/Action
This is about an ex-CIA hit-man who partners with a scientist (Mr. Finch) to prevent crimes before they occur. Mr. Finch, a mysterious billionaire, developed a computer program for the government that predicts terrorist threats in New York City. It was designed as a means to prevent another 9/11-type disaster, but Finch discovered that it was also predicting many "irrelevant" (non-terrorist) violent crimes. The non-terrorist data is dumped to a separate database and deleted each night. Finch realized that a great many domestic crimes could also be prevented if that data could be used. Finch built a back door into the machine that allows him to retrieve a list of Social Security numbers of people who will be involved in those crimes in order of occurrence. Unable to investigate on his own, Finch hires John Reese (Jim Caviezel), a former Green Beret and CIA field officer who is presumed dead, to help stop the crimes from taking place. Finch made the choice of only transmitting the Social Security Numbers of the persons of interest so that if the back door is discovered, the government would have no clue as to what the numbers mean, or who is acting on the data.
The future to come :-)
