Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan is one of the famous three khans of Bollywood. Three khans: Ammir, Shahrukh and Salman are the kings of the bollywood for more than 20 years. These three super stars belong side by side with their own special styles and peculiarities like the famous three great poets of the romantic era: Keats, Byron and Wordsworth. Birth:

Salman Khan was born in Indor of Madhya Pradesh on 27th of December, 1965. Yes, man, he is older than your uncle but looks younger than you. He is the son of Salim Khan. His father was a famous script writer, one of the famous Salim-Javed couple. They have written the hot dialogues of big B on the 70’s.

The dialogues spitted out from the mouth of the “daku” Gabbar Singh are one of the famous creations of Salim- Javed combination.

Salman’s mother is Salma Khan and two brothers are (probably, you knew it) Arbaaz and Sohail. He also has two sisters; Alvira and Arpita.

Salman's step mother is Helen Richardson Khan and his sister-in-law is Malaika Arora of "Chainya Chainya" fame.

Early Life of Salman Khan

Salman’s first schooling was in Scindia school of Gwalior. Later he became a student of St. Stainslaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. He started his filmy career in the movie “Biwi Hai to Aisi”, which was released in 1988. In this film his voice has been dubbed by another actor. Many such young stars like him have tried their lucks in Bollywood before, but few have gotten success. The turning point in Khan’s filmy career came when his second film “Maine Payar Kia” becomes a super hit. The fresh romantic couple Salman and Bhagyashree became the new craze of the Hindi film industry. Salman turned into a big star overnight. After that, his successful journey had started.

After the great success of “Maine Payar Kia”, Salman was recruited in many films. In the early nineties, he bagged some moderate hits like “Baaghi”, “Patthar ke Phool”,"Kurbaan", “Sanam Bewafa” and “Saajan”.At that period he did the mistakes of signing each and every film without considering the plot. As a result his filmy career was greatly affected. There was series of flops. Everybody thought that the hero named Salman Khan was finished.

It was Suraj Barjatya who brought him back to the golden path of success. The 1994 film “Hum Aapke Hain Koun” brought TV soap opera like stories and settings into the film theater. A film without a single fight or serious crime bosses, "HAHW" had seen a huge success in the box office. The ever beautiful Madhuri and handsome Salman had won the hearts of the Indian audience. The film broke all previous records to become the all time best hit of Bollywood. It bagged more than $22 from its worldwide markets.

In 1996, Rakesh Roshan’s “Karan Arjun” was again a super hit. In this film, he acted with Shahrukh Khan. In the late nineties, he became a comedy hero. He acted several comedy films made by David Dhawan. There were some moderate successes like “Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya” or “Biwi No:1”. There was a big hit named “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” by Sanjoy Lila Bansali.

The film “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke” (2000) and “Tere Naam”(2003) was hits, but not super hits. Salman’s acting in “Tere Naam” got huge praise from the critics. Comedies like “Mujh Se Shaadi Karogi”(2004) and “No Entry” were also got success.

Salman Became Superstar

Salman became a super star and defeated others after 2009. He got a series of hits and super hits. 2011 saw three great successes from him: “Ready”,“Dabangg”, and “Bodyguard”. “Dabangg” became the new craze of Bollywood. In 2012, “Ek Tha Tiger” became another super hit film. The sequel of “Dabangg”, “Dabangg 2” also got huge worldwide success.

The year 2015 saw one of the greatest hist of Salman, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", a heart touching story about sending back a lost Pakistani child home. Another romantic film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is also successful.

Controversies

Salman is known for his rash life style. He was in the news for many wrong incidents which gave him a very bad reputation. He is called the “bad boy” of Bollywood along with Sanjay Dutta.

He was arrested in 2002 for killing one person and injuring several others by rash car driving. It was reported that he was drunk at that time and he run his car upon some sleeping footpath dwellers beside a bakery. He might get in serious trouble soon due to this case.

His relationship with the beautiful heroin and Miss Universe Aishwarya Rai was also a great source of controversy. After his break up with the actress he is accused of threatening her and her new date Bibek Oberoy. Police case was lodged against him.

He got prison sentences for hunting endangered Chinkara deer. He managed to escape from prison terms from higher courts.

Salman also got into great controversy by claiming that it was Indian security system’s fault behind 26/11 Mumbai attacks and Pakistan could not be blamed for that.

Salman is a very controversial man. But still he got many awards due to his acting skills. He got the Filmfare Best Actor Award for five times for “Maine Pyar Kia”,”Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”,”Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”,”Tere Naam”and “Dabaang”; Best Supporting Actor for three times for “Jeet” ,”Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”,and “Baghban”; Best Comedian for “No Entry” and Best Debut for “Maine Pyar Kiya”. Salman Khan as an Actor

It is a highly debated issue among the fans how good an actor Salman is. Most people say that his acting skills are inferior to Aamir or SRK. He is infamous among the critics to show his body in film at any slightest chance. But according to some his acting skill has improved much. His comedy in Dabaang has gotten much praise from the press. His performance as romantic hero in “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” or “Mayne Pyar Kiya” was very good.
