Putting things in perspective

Richard Parre married about at the age of 26 in 1478. His wife would have been about the same age. Their daughter, Dorothy of Kempnough Parre, would have been born in the same year.

There is one source, Grant Gregory, that suggest that Richard's last name was spelled Parr instead of Parr. It also suggests that his wife's name was Ellen Worsley. This source states the following:

"Parr is a manor a few miles westerly from Highhurst. In the Kendal branch of the Parrs of Parr was Katherine Parr, sixth wife of King Henry VIII. Katherine and Dorothy were presumably fourth cousins. Richard Parr in the latter part of the 14th century inherited through his wife Ellen Worsley the ancient estate of Kempnough. .. Kempnough Hall, a fine beamed building in the town of Worsley, still stands, a short walk s.w. from Roe Green. The rear part is old enough to go back to Dorothy's days."

Ralph Gregory and his Wife had at least one child

Hi Debbie,

This is fascinating and I'll have to show it to my partner Dai when he comes in.

Dai started tracing his family tree about six years ago and has done quite a bit.

He is from Bristol in England and his surname is Gough. Most of his family were Gough or Tremlett.

He has not done any for a little while but I'm sure he will pick it up again at some point!!

Thanks for sharing,

Take care,

Eiddwen.

Thanks! I find working on family history pretty addictive. It is exciting to see what connections you can find. It's like a treasure hunt.

Best wishes,

Before you take any acne treatment, make sure you know the root cause of the acne. You might end up spienndg a lot of money on the wrong solutions. Often, taking the wrong treatment only aggravates the acne.
