BYE BYE CHARLIE and GOOD RIDDANCE

. . .The gradual decline

Charlie Sheen in Platoon looked pretty cute.
Charlie Sheen in Platoon looked pretty cute.
Looking puffy and worn down.
Looking puffy and worn down.
Oh my.
Oh my.

Fed up with his bizarre behavior, caustic words and drug problem, Warner Bros.banned Charlie Sheen from the studio lot where his television show, Two and One Half Men is filmed. According to gossipy sources, which are not to be taken too seriously, the orders were to “ban him from the lot, don’t even let him get in far enough to make a U turn.”

Whatever! I just hope he never returns to TV, or any other form of entertainment.

Charlie Sheen is no longer the young handsome stud we saw and loved in Platoon. He is an over-the-hill middle- aged man whose face and body are marked by overindulgence in drugs. He behaves on and off screen like a degenerate fool. He pontificates arrogantly about his own wonderfulness, a legend in his own mind.

I rarely watch sit-coms and had the unfortunate experience of tuning in one of the Men episodes and was appalled. Here’s this impressionable boy being raised by a womanizing middle aged over the hill drippy looking narcissistic amoral fool and a weakling buffoon of a father.

The entire premise for the show is totally missing any morality. The show is filled with sexual innuendos and numerous referrals to body parts. In one episode Charlie is recovering from a hangover and actually vomits on a baby in a café. Both the brothers show total disrespect for their mother.

When this kind of trash is aired on television in the early evening and becomes one of these most popular shows ever, what kind of message is this for young people?

How do the mothers of young daughters allowed to watch this repulsive show handle this quote from one of the episodes where Charlie is talking to his young nephew. "I will not take advice from someone whose current girlfriend is a gym sock."

Well we reap what we sow. We have teens flaunting their bare bodies on the Internet having sex and babies at 12 years old and idol- worshiping people like Paris Hilton and the Jersey girls.

Rumor has it that Charlie will be suing them for unnamed millions, and will probably win the suit. So, it kind of makes you wonder who was the winner and who was the loser.

Not to worry. Sadly, he'll probably be dead from an overdose soon enough.

His behavior is due to a drug addled mind . Hopefully, he’ll hit bottom before he dies and finally realize how miserable he really is and seek help.

We should allpary for Charlie Sheen and all other addicts. They are despicable, true, but they are also God's children, just like us.

I know and he is already the highest paid "funny" guy on TV.

Hard to understand Hollywood.

I think Charlie has gone too far this time although with Hollywood you never know. He is a cash cow and come next year he just may be back in the network's good graces.

Sure, he's not finished yet. I just wish he'd sober up and take some serious rolls and stop trying to act like a teenager when he is pushing 50.

thank you for your comment and for reading my silly hub.

I heard last night that he was asking for 3 million an episode...LOL...But TV is the wasteland, so you never know...Enjoyed reading your Hub, and share your concerns.

Hollywood is the last of the traveling freak shows and Charlie is only one of the grotesque examples. You would think that a man making two million dollars per episode could find a little class and humble demeanor with regard to himself. Who died and made him King. Maybe he is the price that God charges for an overly liberal father...couldn't help myself on that one. Good write and good points. BTW...you are my 400th fan and I am delighted to be one of yours! You are so right about the moral decline of our youth. And TV shows like this one and the awful reality shows are sending our kids the wrong messages. It is unfair for anyone to blame those trying to be good parents when they have this type of crap to battle and their kids are unruly. Nice read.

Hi GoGranny: I love it when people agree with me. Thank you for reading my blog and making your comments. I'm just glad I'm still not raising little kids but I see my own kids struggle with all those influences you mention.

I sincerely hope he gets the help he needs and stays in treatment. I believe, and this is my personal opinion from having been through this with a friend, is that he has an undiagnosed mental illness, and it has gone untreated for decades. He may have started using alcohol and drugs as a way of self-medicating and spiraled into this. For the sake of his children, his father, brothers and his own, I hope he gets the wake up call he needs. I am not in anyway condoning or making excuses for his behavior, I am just saying he is ill. Because of his fame; what should be a private matter is being played out publicly. Remember, everyone gave up on Britney Spears, vilified her publicly and meanwhile she was struggling with undiagnosed BiPolar disorder. Megalomania is a symptom as well as substance abuse. Everyone of us controls what we and our families watch. Not Charlie Sheen, not Hollywood - the person holding the remote. Just push the OFF button.

Thank you for your comments and your view point. I guess if you have enough money and fame it is very tempting to overindulge.Fame seems to take a toll.

watched his live, unedited, one hour interview on Morgan... my conclusion: Sheen is currently the SANEST guy there is... and if he crashes tomorrow, that doesn't mean he's not the sanest guy today. He said he suddenly woke up with a new brain, so certainly he could wake up tomorrow with an old brain, but todays brain is honest, brave, smart, and clear... and those who disagree that he he is sane do so to defend their own bullshit saturated brains... don't dismiss him, study the value of his success, even as he says himself, "if I am insane, I'm not dangerously insane, it's good to be insane."
