Family Games - How to Have Fun Playing Together?

PLAYING FUN FAMILY GAMES CAN TEACH SERIOUS LESSONS ABOUT LIFE

Children learn some very important lessons about real life - when playing games and having fun with the family.

COMPETITION - CHEATING - FIGHTS... HOW CAN THESE ELEMENTS POSSIBLY COME TOGETHER TO CREATE FAMILY BONDING THROUGH PLAYING GAMES?

Why is it, that playing family games - together with our children - often ends up - with seemingly negative consequences? Do you find yourself, asking this question...

"Are we having fun yet"?

Are you completely frazzled after playing a supposedly harmless game of "Hungry Hungry Hippos" - (ok, you pick the game of your most recent family brawl) where your kids have nearly killed each other, from scratching and clawing one another - - just to get those stupid little white balls in "their" hippo's plastic mouth - so "they" can claim a VICTORY, above all others?

And of course; "Everyone" now - because of "so and so" - has either in "you know who's" opinion - cheated "them" - in some dastardly and devious way!

REALLY, what is the point?

WHY AND HOW WE CAN USE PLAYING GAMES IN OUR FAMILIES FOR GROWTH - LEARNING AND FUN.

If you can related to this, as being something similar to what you and your family experience frequently, when playing games together for bonding purposes... we need to have a talk.

Lets, just for a moment - THINK about the logic of playing family games, and IF we are actually playing the kind and types of family games that will promote family growth and bonding -- "while" spending time together.

Have you also noticed, that when people get together with those that are NOT their family members - there is much less bickering, etc...?

Why? Could the ability to behave while interacting outside of our families, have anything to do - with what we "learn" within our family systems... in the name of family togetherness and "bonding"?

LEARNING HOW TO WORK TOGETHER THROUGH PLAYING...

Family games can help children to develop better skills for solving problems.

APPROACH - PURPOSE - INTENTION... WILL "EVENTUALLY" BRING DESIRED RESULTS FOR OUR FAMILY THROUGH THE PLAYING OF GAMES.

Most group games that we play in our families, require a minimum of two players to then "play" the game. This is where the fun begins in your family - and the playing of games for togetherness!

The kind of togetherness - that teaches. Families are for having fun with - but a family that functions well together - is a family that is learning "together". This learning - can be quite deceiving for the unknowing.

FACTS:

  • The family is the basic unit of Society.

  • Within a family, is an individuals ability to learn how to interact with others outside of the family unit - made most effective.
  • Families that "work" and "play" together - will gain the best experience for having positive relationships both with their family members; but also have an increased ability to bond and create lasting relationships - with others outside of the family.

And depending upon the ages of your individual family members and the numbers involved - therein, creates the dynamics of your quality family time and of course the desired - and hoped for - family bonding!

Whatever!

Playing Games As A Family Has More of a Purpose Than Just Fun?

Playing family games - helps develop skills in each family member in the home - so that outside of the home they are better able to form good relationships.

A GAME CAN TEACH A CHILD HOW TO MAKE THE RIGHT MOVES IN LIFE!

IF PARENTS ARE TEACHERS, THEN CHILDREN BECOME OUR STUDENTS.

And that is what we call "family life"!

Family life is many things to each member of a family. To parents - family life, is most always "work" before "fun".

Would you agree? Now assuming you agree - let's now apply this known formula of "family life" to the playing of games and learning.

  • Games are work for parents +

  • Games lead to fights between children, and many times ending with negative results

  • = Learning for everyone!

TEACHING A CHILD HOW TO PLAY

I Wanted To Teach A Child Today

That Their Life Is About Choice

The Ones That They Make

Either Good Or Bad

But Cannot Be Known Until They Understand

That Choices - Have Consequence

Which Will Bring Desired Results...

I Decided To Play Some Games With Them

So I Can Teach Them - How To Play To Win!

Write-On!

FAMILY BONDS ARE STRENGTHENED THROUGH PLAYING GAMES - AS WE TEACH OUR CHILDREN HOW TO GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER.

Learning comes from participating with others, or an action of the self - with ending results, that now must be interpreted to qualify for things "learned".

FAMILIES THAT LEARN AND PLAY TOGETHER.

Playing games is a great way for your children to learn how to positively interact with others, and handle disappointment.

SMART PARENTS KNOW WHY AND HOW TO USE GAMES FOR OPTIMUM BONDING!

When moms and dads, understand that games are actually quite serious business... and really have great potential for teaching serious principles about "life" - in a "fun" way; it is "then" that the games you play with your family, now - can be used to teach important skills, that will benefit the entire family and each member of your family for years to come...

Sneaky you say? Yup! Good parenting, or lets just call it creative parenting - or "parents" know, that when they gather the family around to just hang out and "play" games; that these parents, who are teachers - are really teaching their children the skills that are necessary for them to be able to play games and get along with many people, while doing many things...

But, these children - who are "lucky" enough to play games with parents who understand these principles to go along with the playing of games - now use what manifest itself as negativity in their families, to then teach individuals skills within a safe environment - known as the loving "family".

WORK AND PLAY TEACH VALUABLE LESSONS FOR LIFE!

It is these kinds of loving families that work and play together - hand in hand - understanding the value of "hard" play - which then produce individuals who become a great benefit to our overall Communities.

Thus, these families who spend time, growing up together - learning through the work of playing "games" - thus... naturally bond with the other players on the team... inspite of seeming "rough" times!

The best and most fun games that families can play to learn and bond, are those games that "parents" can utilize - "how" to teach their children the skills of life...

My family has taken a liking to the game PIT. Although we combine it with spoons to make a very entertaining and wild version of the game. We even broke my mom's kitchen table once in a giant battle for the spoons. hahaha.

Another favorite activity is doing puzzles during the holidays. It's great for visiting and relaxing, especially if you don't care about the football games ;)
