I like finding hubs that get little traffic. I don't know why this wouldn't get just as many as your other hubs. Any idea why?I like the name Dallas. So different. Thanks for caring.

ThankIs, Dallas is my daughter's name. I don't know why this one doesn't get much traffic. Or maybe it just doesn't get many comments. I have another name one that gets at least one view just about every day from Google. Maybe Dallas just isn't a popular name.

I think you should add to the hub and expand on Dallas. It also was a very popular t.v. series. With a little creativity it could get a lot of views. How old is your daughter now? If you added what kind of personality and how she changed your life Dallas would be exciting and different as it should be. I was give the name Michael and I got a lot of attention from the Life cereal commercials Mikey Likes It. I felt like a celebrity without all the headaches. I always liked my name while some people can't stand their name. Sunny and in the 70's here. Have a beautiful day.

Thanks. I'll keep your suggestions in mind, especially since I have toyed with the idea of doing more name hubs because they get Google traffic. Though I much prefer more creative writing than informational since I do so much of it in the form of web content articles for others. The creative ones are for me as much as anyone else who enjoys reading them. Maybe more for me. LOL

My daughter is 9. I've known many peoplel named Michael in my life. Most of them I like. I do like the name. I like my own, too.

When I first started writing friends told me never use your real name when you write so I thought what would be something everyone likes to do . Dream On was born. They asked for a picture the same friends told me never use your picture so I used my cat. Shanmarie is that your real name. ? Where you named after anyone in the family ? I think I was named after my uncle but not I'm not sure. My parents have both passed away so I will never know. Life is funny that way.

I think when the internet was first becoming popular, it was less encouraged to use your real name and picture for safety reasons. It never hurts to air on the side of caution. However, I would have more of a problem putting my address or phone number out there for the world to see. But now days even those things can be found out if one looks for it. One internet address search away from all being exposed these days.

As for being an author, I think it is best to use the name you want to be known by. Maybe that's why so many on HP have opted to include their real names next to their user names. To answer your question, no, Shanmarie is not my given name, but it is a variation of it. My name is Shannon and my middle name is Marie. Some friends call me Shan for short so I combined my middle name with that. Marie is a name in my family that goes back several generations. It used to alternate between first name and middle name every other generation, but my mother chose to end the pattern even though she kept the name in the family. Had she wanted to keep the pattern going, my first name would have been Marie instead of my middle name. How sad that you don't know where your name came from. I have already shared that information with my children. I think it's interesting and think it is something worth knowing as part of individual history and family history.

Have you made any money on Hub Pages ? I haven't but I have learned so much about people and writing. It is always so much fun. Every hubber is a mystery to me. They write so beautiful. In my mind I pretend they are all rich and famous celebrities. How honored am I to mix in with such a crowd. I am no imposter just a person who loves to write and rolls words together explaining the highs and lows of his life. Thank you for writing and sharing.

Oh, I've made change here and there on HP, but not enough to amount to anything. I've never received a payout from HP, though I think I'm getting close to one. The creative writing doesn't do as well with Google share programs. If your aim is to write for money utilizing advertising share programs, you would do better writing Google SEO optimized articles that are evergreen and informational instead of creative or editorial, though some editorial things can do well if the writer is popular enough. Unless it is something I am passionate about, though, or at least a little bit interested in, informational can be boring and I have a hard time staying focused when I have to churn out multiple articles on the same subject using specific keyword phrases to a certain density. Thank you as well.
