HIRST

Lynn 2 weeks ago

this is really a great site...thank you! I checked through your surnames and sadly didn't see any Hirsts?

My ggggrand father was Ira Hirst, born in 1828 Batley, Morley. His father was David and mother was Martha nee Fox. Ira moved his family to SA where he died and his family remained.

Should you find any grave info on his father and mother and even their ancestors, I would be so happy as I cant find any info further back to see who my ancestors were in the Hirst line.

ira married Adelaide Octavia Kinsman and because her father was Curator of Gildersome I have luckily found lots of info...

Take care!

Hi Eileen. I have Lawrence ancestors from London, Chelsea, Iver in Bucks and Chelmarsh in Shropshire. 16th & 17th Centuries. Wondering what Lawrences you have encountered in Bucks. My American immigrant ancestor Robert Lawrence was christened in Iver in the early 1600s and immigrated to Virginia in 1639. Regards, Paul

Burial records for the Lawrence surname found in the City of London Cemetery:

MAUNSELL

Jody Maunsell 12 hours ago

Looking for the grave of Charles R. Maunsell in Ireland, or any other Maunsells you may have. Thank you.

Hi Jody the information I have was reported in the New York City newspaper, The Irish-American under the heading 1857 Irish Deaths it reported that at Charlemont Avenue, Dublin, Charles R. MAUNSELL, Esq., son of Major MAUNSELL, late District Paymaster of Newry, had died but doesn't state where he was buried.

Are you only interested in the Irish side of the Maunsell family because there are quite a few of that surname buried in a nearby Northamptonshire church?

OLIVER

Margaret Dowd 2 months ago

Hello Eileen

I have Oliver families in Buckinghamshire/Northamptonshire. First ones were Thomas Oliver who married Mary Rehnols. Both from Chearsley born about 1670. Richard Oliver, son 1695-1761 and wife Mary Tebbot 1721-1774 in Great Linford, Bucks. Richard Oliver 1744-1807and wife Sarah Curtis 1745-1807 in Great Linford, Bucks. Richard's son William Oliver born 1803 in Great Linford, Bucks died in Northampton 1864, his first wife Annie Wheatley died 1834 in New Port Pagnell,Buck.

Hi Margaret, I actually live in Great Linford and St. Andrews is my local church, small world huh! I have photographed all the graves in St. Andrews and unfortunately there are none for the Oliver family. I do have some burial information for that church which lists some Oliver family as having been buried there but their graves no longer exist. I have looked for the names you listed but sorry to say I have no other information other than what I have listed below:

30 May 1834 Ann age 25

15 Jun 1834 Thomas age 58

I would be interested in any information you might have on PENNINGTON if this was in the Lancashire area.

Also WILLIAMS from Anglesey/Caernarvonshire.

Thanks

The only Pennington burial in Lancashire that I know of is an infant called Isabella Pennington, who was buried 22 Mar 1824 in Christ Church, Over Wyresdale.

Note: I have no information on Wales, sorry.

PLANT

Pamela Bartrip 3 hours ago

I am looking at the Carter side of the family and have an ancestor who came from Aston Abbots but probably died in Twyford (or Charndon possibly) in July 1847 as a Plant, wife of William Plant who died in Oct 1852.

Hi Pamela, we have PLANT in our family tree too but not from Buckinghamshire. The only female PLANT that I have in my records that died in Buckinghamshire around the right sort of date is:

Mary Plant buried 9 Feb 1848 age 77, she is buried in St. Mary and Holy Cross in Quainton, Bucks.

COMING SOON .............

I am currently in the process of producing a 'CD' that can be purchased which will contain all the information that I have collected over the years, currently just over 6,000 individual's names and data, including over 2,000 photographs which can be purchased for the grand price of $5, how's that for a low introductory price? This will cover the cost of setting things up and I'd just like to get the information out there to the people who are searching for it. Yearly updates will be available so that you can keep up-to-date with everything being collected as I go along. If you are interested in purchasing this either in CD form or as a GEDCOM which you can download direct onto your pc please leave me a message in the comments box and I will notify you when this is ready to purchase.

I have a family called Plant in my family tree from Twyford in Bucks. I think William Plant was married on 4 Oct 1799 at Aston Abbots to Ann Carter (born 13 Feb 1780 Aston Abbots) and she died in 1847 (can't find a burial). Her parents might have been Henry Carter (son of Timothy Carter) and Esther Sharp. William & Ann Plant had 12 children.
