ROCKFORD

cheryl borton raley 3 weeks ago

I am looking for any information on Borton (also Rockford, stockall and Tantony-but they are not on your list yet).

Thank you

Burial information only I'm afraid on this surname:

Burial Date

18 Sep 1728, Mary, buried St. Peter & St. Paul, Upton Upon Severn, Worcestershire

10 Dec 1766, Ann, buried Holy Trinity, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire

8 Oct 1786, William, age 68, buried Holy Trinity as above.

The only Borton I have is a recent one who died in 1968 and I don't normally post anything new-ish as I would hate to upset the family of the deceased. The information on Tantony is further down this page.

Amelia Eva Harriet Sapwell died 5 Oct 1876 aged 16 years buried in St. Andrews Church, Great Linford, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England

Hannah Sapwell died April aged 80 years (unfortunately the rest of the inscription has been eroded) buried in St. Andrews Church, Great Linford, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England

Note: There is also another Sapwell family member buried in the same church and another buried in a nearby churchyard in New Bradwell but since these are in the last 50 years I won't publish them as I wouldn't like to intrude upon a family's grief.

And finally (without photographs) buried in St. Michael's graveyard in Lavendon:

Buried 6 April 1816 Sophia Sapwell age 18 and

buried 25 Jul 1817 William Sapwell age 16.

WORSEY

Karen Edwards 3 weeks ago

Thanks for all the wonderful work, do you have anything on the Worsey family from Leeds, Yorkshire - this would be William Worsey or William or John Worsey from Staffordshire. The Yorkshire link would be May 1832 for William or his father John Worsey in Staffordshire 1870 and further antecedants using both John and William Worsey still in Staffordshire. I have a William b. 1781 d. not known, then I have John b. 1755 d. unknown, then another John b. 1729 at Penkridge, d. dated unknown at Penkridge also. Any information on the ....... Worsey families would be much appreciated. I am in Australia and can be contacted at rustykj@gmail.com .

Thank you for all this wonderful work it really is much appreciated, regards Karen

Hi Karen, I have no photographs of Worsey and nothing at all in Yorkshire. But I do have three burials listed in Staffordshire.

Burial Date

20 May 1817, Sarah Worsey, age 67, buried St. Margaret, Great Barr, Staffordshire

27 Jan 1820, Thomas Worsey, age 88, same church

8 Jun 1821, Charles Worsey, age 72, same church

@Delene - can you narrow it down a bit to a region or town in the UK as there are thousands of individuals with the surname Selby?

@Kylie - Kylie there are an awful lot of Smiths in Lancashire - do you have any more details so that I can find the right people for you? Dates and names would be really helpful.

@Todd - I have located 27 John Todd burials in Yorkshire from the age of Walter's birth up until 1825 (which I think would be a rough guess of the death of his father) but without knowing whereabouts in Yorkshire I don't think you can eliminate any of those names. Very happy to send you the list, let me know.

Kevin Sanderson profile image

Kevin Sanderson 18 months ago

Hi Eileen, Thank you for what you are doing and for whatever help you can provide! I see you have Sanderson in your list of names. I am looking for Sanderson/Saunderson graves in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire and City of London, but Higham Ferrers especially since it's looking more and more that we are descended from a family there, but it seems the children and descendants all left the area and moved to points unknown, except for Edward (my ancestor), his brother Robert and another brother - possibly named William - who moved to the Bay Colony in the mid-1600s. It would be great to see whatever Sanderson graves you have, but we are hoping Edward Saunderson (also written as Saundersonne), the brother's possible father, was buried next to his wife Frances and that it might provide a date. Frances was buried 21 Oct 1637 in the St. Mary the Virgin parish register in Higham Ferrers, but there is no record found yet of Edward being buried. It would be great to see any other Sanderson/Saunderson graves in Higham Ferrers or elsewhere you may have traveled in Northamptonshire as well. The other possible siblings were Susan, Elizabeth, Zachary, Mary and Matthew. I realize the markers may not have survived through today as one old ones over here in the U.S. are gone or in very bad condition. Thank you again for your great work!!
