In Search of Family Values
The love of the family, the closeness so shared,
it was all for one and one for all, to be paired.
The times have gone by, in those days of old,
When values were meaningful, in stories told.
The mother and father, and children all cared,
each tiny tot blessed, their preciousness spared.
No filthy language was so blatantly expressed,
upbringing and development, rightfully progressed.
The family decided what each would do and to see,
No dictatorial direction by the media and on T.V.
Sexual matters discussed, were left to each home,
Children played on teams, no streets did they roam.
Healthy discussions were once heard and proclaimed,
no names were cursed and in profanity, blamed.
Decent song lyrics were once well sung and admired,
As positive examples were displayed and inspired.
Wholesome family living and the reasons for such,
were given to upbringing, and meant very much.
Sitting to eat meals with beloved members each day,
Gave special memories and showed the right way.
Fatherly advice meant much more and was revered,
A genuine role model, the rule, was as they appeared.
Now, displaying of violence and lawlessness to prevail,
As such evilness is seen, as though casting a bad spell.
When our children's future lives are all now on the line,
must we persist in this madness, as though we are blind?
It"s time to put a stop to the wrongs and to make right,
A definite great cause and so well justified, in this fight,

To my father and his loving care all of those years when I was young.
When will it be too late?
