My Children's Secret Meetings
Wait for Mom to Fall Asleep
I think I finally figured it out!!! My children have to be holding some kind of secret meeting in the middle of the night while I am fast asleep. It all makes complete sense. I take them to bed, I finish some house chores that didn't get accomplished, and I head for bed. I usually tend to fall asleep rather quickly, and once I am out, I am out. My kids know very well that I am a heavy sleeper. Even if they wake me they know they have to talk to me for a few minutes until I realize that I am awake and actually in a conversation with them. You see my dreams usually collide with reality so when someone wakes me up I may be talking to them in real life but real life is actually happening in my dreams. (I hope you can understand that logic) For example, if the alarm is going off something in my dream is making the exact same sound, so until my mind wakes up I don't get up to turn it off.
With that being said, I sit sometimes at the end of the day and ponder how the kids knew exactly what to do and at what time to do it in their efforts to drive me insane. Then I realized they have to have a secret meeting. A meeting so strategically planned. I don't however have the proof yet, because when I asked them about their secret meetings they played it off so well like they didn't exist. Again, is this in their plan to make me insane? I could hear them now. "OK listen, you start throwing a tantrum at 9:12 am., and I will keep standing with the refrigerator door open, then you hide one of her flip-flops in the kitchen cabinet. I will just sit here and laugh at her the whole time. Oh is this going to be a funny day for mom!!!"
All I know is one of these days I will catch them!!! I could stay up all night and wait to catch them, but if I am wrong I will be extremely tired and then they would really have fun messing with me!!!!
