My Mom's Career

Updated on June 23, 2009

My   Mom’s Career

When I was just a little girl , I remember how my mother took care of us. I still remember how she told us great stories and tales from folklore books before we sleep. I remember how she served us great dinner with her expertise in cooking. My mother is a very good cook. We were able to taste great delicacies because of her skill in cooking. I am always excited to eat every meal  in our home because  my mother was the one who cooked it.

I still remember how she had been a great teacher to us, she was my first teacher. She had trained us to enrich our vocabulary. During those years she gave us five vocabulary words to study every night. The training indeed help me to excel in my academic years.

My mother is a great defender and protector of her children. She defended us  even when we were still incapable of defending ourselves against the attack of the enemies. She protected us while we were still incapable of protecting ourselves against the violence and cruelty of the world. Even up to now she is very much concern about me and my sister’s safety wherever we are.

She sent us to good schools even though the family’s budget is tight, to ensure that we are well equipped for the difficult times and the competitions of the world.

In my heart, my mother is not perfect but she is a great mom. She listens to our cries, aches and concerns and share with us the pain in our hearts during our desperate moments. I still remember during my elementary days how she approached one of my teachers who caused pain in my life as a student.

She smiles and laughs with us when we share with her the jokes of all times. My mother has also a good sense of humor and she can really make me laugh.

All her life, she has only one career that I have known ever since I was born in the family. The career that requires her lifetime commitment, the career that demands full of her time, the career that requires all her attention  and that career is to look after the welfare of her family.

All my life I have witnessed how she spent her strength, her energy, her youth, her time and devotions, how she spent each passing day just to fulfill the duty and obligation of being a mother.

Yes my mother is not perfect, but for me she is just great  and deserved to be honored. This hub is my tribute to her.
