Old Codes

Round Table

Old codes
Old codes

A fairy tale world or a pink dream life? Nope… none of them; just a profound admiration for the old codes.

The king Arthur, with his knights and the round table; might be considered a legend of the middle ages. But, I do know that I gain the knowledge that it is better the mentioned “Old Codes;” where no range of rank was among them only a “primus inter pares”. They were men of:

  • Courage
  • Honor
  • Dignity
  • Courtesy
  • Nobleness

The characteristics above are absent in the position of the Secretary of The Department of Education here in Puerto Rico; who comes with the election of the governor every four years… a total political seat. They just want to impress the political parties’ and not a better education. Because of their untruth...they always screw up...ending in bad shape. What an immense need of moral values! What an immense need of real men!

Jesus Rivera Sanchez

Ex Secretary of the Department of Education of Puerto Rico
Ex Secretary of the Department of Education of Puerto Rico

Victor Fajardo

Once upon a time secretary
Once upon a time secretary

The Department of Education

Jesus Sanchez Rivera, ex secretary of Puerto Rico Department of Education (resigned, October 23, 2011), had been changing, demanding, punishing and embarrassing professionals of the education with his “new” teacher evaluating system. As others in that position they never have cared for what children, parents or teachers really need. Instead of following the old codes...a good chat around the round table. Perhaps the strikes, stresses and bad communication would have stopped. Today, Jesus Sanchez Rivera, is being accused of stealing water and electricity. Hummm...I wonder why he decided to resign!!!

Another ex Puerto Rico Education Secretary, Victor Fajardo, has a provisional liberty after five years of prison with a sentence of twelve years for a millionaire fraud during his administration of Puerto Rico Department of Education.

Representation of men with moral values

Follow the old codes

What is happening to the values of our "educational" heads????

We can not depend on the values of others. We need to do as Ephesians 6:16 says, " in addition to all, taking up the shields of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."

Let's follow the old codes and sit on the round table with our children, our loved ones...with those which in one way or another are in some way being led by us. And those which we follow lead them to do the same. Cause and effect is not just one more expectation of the education system...is more deep than that. It is for us the "people" to understand that everything has a consequence.

Knights of the Round Table

Protected their kingdoms

The Round Table was founded on:

  • Patience
  • Humility
  • Meekness

Even nature shows us the mission of protecting our family...our kingdoms!!!

Learn what nature teaches. Try to practice the mission.

Righteousness cannot be a legend

Service

Served their king

How do we serve our king? First you need to discover who is he? Then give:

  • honor,
  • honesty,
  • value
  • and loyalty.

Lessons from the Knights

The best example

Used might to uphold the weak

Our best example is Jesus Christ, the one and only which used might to uphold the weak. We could try the "Old Codes"...but with Jesus Christ in our hearts.

Do you know him?

That's My King

Engagement

Blessings to all as we engage with a righteous lifestyle around the round table!

This has got to be your best hub so far. I am amazed by your abilities and your English has been better than mine. Love you Honey.

I love to write and share. Thanks, for being a good model. Blesses!!! Proverbs 29 read this morning (after being awake almost all night long with the news of the Secretary of Education), is making me meditate; specially verse 2. Hoping your Spanish gets better also.

I am a huge fan of Jesus Christ; Jesus Rivera, not so much.

Nor Victor Falardass, and I thi--what? Ohh sorry, that's "Fajardo."

...off with their heads! At least, their educational ones...

Hehehe!!! Maria, remember, when Fajardo was accused of corruption, judged and prosecuted? No one who graduated under his administration wanted to frame or display their school diploma because it was signed with his signature. What a shame!!!

Every political figure in Puerto Rico should be locked in a big room and forced to take a place on the legendary round table... and instruct them to come to terms between themselves following a moral code... and not come out until they deliver a safe plan whereas, every detail of administrative concern meets an agreement amongst the different political parties they represent… always with the best public interest and to entirely benefit WE, THE PEOPLE.

But, knowing their past attitudes... sitting around a round table like King Arthur's... Would only redound to one repercussion or consequence: their issues will spin, cycle and recycle in a never-ending whirlpool to no avail whatsoever… perhaps killing themselves in the process.

I think we need to restart this government... we can still use the same chess board (the island with its infrastructure and resources), but we need to replace ALL of the pieces with shiny new ones... or bring back from Camelot King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table!

Filkman...you are really funny...you just find the funny in things. Thanks!

And Betty dear sis...we need to be good voters.

Good voters, sure! But which candidate is good enough to deserve our vote? A political figure (staff included), decent, loyal and strong enough to avoid being affected by power, wealth, corruption, deceit and treason... which all come with politics.

Betty Ruiz, we are living in the last days. We need to focus and trust our Lord. God always shows which is His will.

To pray... and wait!

Reminds me of the hippie era of the 70s (Christian hippies!)

REPENT! JESUS LOVES YOU! HE IS COMING SOON!

I repeat: PRAY... and WAIT!

Hey Betty Ruiz...thanks for provoking a Hub for me to write. But...that message isn't from the 70. That message was left by our Savior and Lord and put in us by the Holy Spirit. Matthew 24:35 says: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass". And, 2 Peter "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. Hugs and blesses!

Betty, I had to answer your comment also. Praying and waiting on the Lord came long before the 1960's and 70's. Jesus said these Words Himself:

And you yourselves be like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately.

But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience.

There are many more scriptures.

Thank you both for addressing the correct scriptures in the Bible. I read the Bible but it's hard for me to memorize exactly where in the Bible I can find them. It's probably the main reason I haven't written any hub yet...

I know the "Pray and wait" is a message way beyond the hippie era from the 70s... I just mentioned it because the image of Christian hippies (not the Flower Power, LSD psychedelic ones!), gathered under trees, singing Christian songs praising the Lord Jesus and handing out messages of his second coming... popped into my mind... because all of my 55 years of life I've been hearing this... and my parents, and my grandparents, and great-grandparents, and great-great grandparents... and ALL the generations that have come to pass since Jesus Christ left this message to the apostles of his second coming.

You know, just waiting!

2 Peter 3:9 says:"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."
