Where to go on holiday with a baby

Updated on June 19, 2013

Baby on vacation

The baby needs a vacation, she's been through some rough moments: coming to a new world, learning this world has some rules and patterns to comply to, meeting Mommy and Daddy and Grandma and other people that keep smiling at her and so on.

You (Mom and Dad) need a holiday, but you're wondering where could you go, because you need to make sure the place you're going to is right for the baby, safe, clean, not too cold, not too hot, you'll need to pack lots of things, book a baby/child friendly accommodation, check the air tickets prices and availabilities and so on.

But first, where should you go with your precious baby? Where on Earth could you find a good holiday spot for both you and the baby?

Baby on holiday: Rhodes, Greece

At the beginning of summer, in June, or at the end, in September - that's the best time to go to Rhodes on vacation with your infant. The weather is pleasant, warm, not really high temperatures, few chances of rainy days.

There are charter flight to Rhodes from Europe's main hubs, and the prices are low, especially if book your holiday early.

  • 2 water slide pools (fresh water)
  • 1 action pool with climbing wall
    (fresh water)
  • Playground area
  • Mini clubs for kids from 4-12 years
    with supervisors
  • Mini disco, afternoons
  • Bumper cars
  • Carousel
  • Children movies
  • Climbing towers
  • Inflatable games

  • Baby phones (hire)
  • Push chairs (hire)
  • Restaurant high chairs

There are family type rooms, a great variety of kids foods at the restaurants and bars of the hotel, and lots of ways to have fun with your child.

Here is a review of a Mom:

"We just returned from our 14-day holliday with our 2 kids (2 years, 4 months) and I can only say bravo to the excellent animation team (mattia, peter, irina, kasia, mirco, erica and all the other...) , their positive energy gave our stay an unexpected twist.

we were a little woried about the food, because 14 days of eating from an all you can eat buffet can get uniquely and boring. but not in esperides... great sea food, excellent deserts, especially the chocolate cakes.

for families with young kids, up to 8 years old, this is a perfect place to stay."

Baby travel guide

Either you're going on a summer beach vacation, a visit to friends or family in another location, hit the slopes, going for a lite city break or any other type of travel, taking your baby along complicates things a little.

Planning and organizing everything before the travel starts will make things easier.

First: packaging

Be sure to get informed before travelling, about the maximum size and weight of the free baggage allowance on your desired flight, if that's the way to go.

Don't pack just the minimum necessities, as your baby needs plenty of stuff, and not being at home will make it harder for you to find solutions if certain issues emerge.

Take lots of clothes, diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifier(if your baby uses it),
